Williams and Maye have shown not to be “OMG YOU HAVE TO DRAFT THIS GUY” QB prospects to me. They may well be great, but they’re both going to need work and some luck.
I’d much rather the Bears shore up the rest of the roster and figure out coaching, namely on the OC side, before trying to draft a new QB.
That doesn’t justify it though.

He is, at any position, the most “can’t miss” guy in this draft class.
I would MUCH rather pass on Maye and Williams, even if both go on to be good players, in order to keep building the team to the point that we’re just a QB away from winning.
We are WAY more than a single QB away from winning. Winning more games? Sure, a QB away. Winning a Super Bowl? We’re a lot more than just a QB away.
