Too many questions with fields. I say this draft looks fine. Give us a fresh QB with a competent coaching staff and we might be cooking in a couple years. We are a QB and 1-2 pieces per side of the trenches away from looking elite. I like this draft setup

Even though I am not a fan of Caleb Williams… I would be excited. Best rated QB and LT. How can you complain.

Oh god oh fuck are we REALLY starting with mock drafts already!!?! FFS I feel like we dealt with these mock draft posts for 5 months straight last season into the draft

Welcome to a rebuild with a franchise who likes to have a total lack of continuity between their drafts and head coaching hires.

I’d feel like we’d be in roughly the same situation we are now.

I’d also feel like we missed out on a generational WR to pair with DJ Moore but, hopefully, getting better at tackle.

I’ll get crucified for saying this but I didn’t like the crying. QB is a leader of men. I don’t want my leader running away and crying to his mother when times get tough.

Unless Fields stinks it up for the last several games we should take MHJ + OL. I think people on this sub are looking for a Aaron Rodgers/Mahomes/Burrow type QB that can take over a game and put up insane numbers. But the truth is there are only like 5 or 6 human beings on earth capable of playing on that level and the chances of us hitting on somebody like that in the draft is extremely low. I would be ecstatic if we could turn Fields into an Andy Dalton type QB that probably isn’t going to light up the scoreboard, but also isn’t going to actively lose you games.

So give up on going for a QB like that. If that’s the case I’d rather just draft o-line and defense and just hope ground and pound running and a turnover heavy defense wins… Although dominant D’s haven’t proven to be consistent year in and out.

It’d be frustrating to admit that Fields was done, but if he doesn’t play great in the last 7 games it’s probably time to face it.

I don’t think Braxton Jones is a hole that needs filled, I thought there was a Edge that’s a possible top 5 and sure top 10 pick.

Also wouldn’t oppose trading back and getting another 2nd this year

Ya Braxton isn’t elite, but he’s not bad enough to be replaced. Imaging taking an ot and they don’t do well then you’re stuck trying to play them because of the investment in them. I hope we go edge, or somehow mhj falls to our 2nd pick.

I also highly doubt the cardinals draft brock bowers after the way Trey mcbride has been playing for them

I don’t trust this front office to be able to develop any QB. CW goes to the Bears and he’s going to look just as bad as Fields, Trubisky, Cutler, Grossman.
