Even on Claypool, he gave the dude a chance to turn his shit around, dude didn’t, bam he was gone. Poles didn’t get all precious about it.

Packers went 6-9-1 with Aaron Rodgers, too. Shit happens, and it’s a team sport.
Any backup will struggle. If you play nothing but good games, you’re a starter. Bagent didn’t make a ton of mistakes and didn’t look lost. Compared to a lot of backups we have had here, that’s improvement, not a mirage.
I doubt they even make a decision until the end of the year. What’s the rush? Anyone we want to hire isn’t available to interview until post-season anyway.
Sure Ryan Poles would be hiring the HC.
Marshall was never forgotten while Cutler was throwing.
Justin didn’t blow it, my dude. He made the correct read and made the correct throw. The receiver made a mistake.
I realize this isn’t going to be a popular take, but if Eberflus wins 2 of the next 3 games, he should be back, IMO. After that I think it matters less.
Andy Dalton was by far the better QB at the time. Truthfully, Justin shouldn’t have even been the backup. He should have been inactive. Dude got thrown to the wolves before he was ready.
Pretty safe call; our next game is Monday night!
I still think we can beat the Lions. You know. In theory. Any given Sunday?
He only needs 12 combined tackles to make the Bears top 10 list for tackles in a single season (tracked since 1994.) He is chasing Brian Urlacher’s 123 from 2007. He is on pace to shatter the team record (currently 163 by Roquan Smith in 2021.)
To be fair, we have been a game ahead of a lot of teams much of the year because our BYE is so late.
Tie for me between 1 and 2.
1 because I believe you can win with Fields right now if the team is good enough (much like Mitch, though Fields is more explosive than Mitch,) so if you want to build the team around him I think that is one way to proceed. We didn’t win it all in 2018, but I would take just having fun again.
If you really feel you have to keep trying for a superstar QB then 2 is my choice.
I think this fanbase would turn on Harbaugh almost instantly, the expectations are just unrealistic and we have zero patience.
The biggest character flaw the McCaskey family has as owners is loyalty. There is no universe where they fire a staff over something so trivial as a TV show.
I think it depends on what pick we get. If we end up with #1, it’s very hard to pass on Maye regardless of how Justin performs (within reason). If we end up with #2 and Maye is gone, I think Williams is no better of a prospect than Fields was, so if Fields looks even okay then we might as well keep him (the contract is irrelevant to us at the moment.) If we end up with #3 or later, I think Fields has a real chance of staying anyway, because Harrison becomes the target and there is no other QB you need to take in the top 10 this year. We might grab another QB late in the 1st or in the 2nd after trading back, but he won’t be an automatic starter.
Mooney is 50% of the actual NFL-quality WRs on the roster. The rest are role-players.
We definitely should have beaten the Broncos, too.
I don’t think it’s that crazy. I do agree that it’s not a steal, but a 1st round edge rusher in his prime for a 2nd seems pretty good. That’s a premiere position. Young got a 3rd, and he’s injury-prone.
Didn’t we beat some of those with Tyson Bagent?
