Why the Chicago Bears trading for Montez Sweat makes a ton of sense.00:00 Pash Rush08:33 Run DefenseFollow me on Social Media: Twitter: https://twitter.com/N...
Dude, you can absolutely be optimistic about the trade (I personally am not). But to call it a “major steal” is maybe the wildest thing I’ve seen on here today.
I don’t think it’s that crazy. I do agree that it’s not a steal, but a 1st round edge rusher in his prime for a 2nd seems pretty good. That’s a premiere position. Young got a 3rd, and he’s injury-prone.
We could have drafted someone at #35 and also signed a DE in the offseason. We didn’t have to give up the pick.
It was too high of a price to pay. SF gave up a pick around #70 to get Young. That’s good value. #35 is an overpay for a player like Sweat who is very good but not elite.
Not a steal, but for a guy who is first round talent at a premium position and this allows us to focus our other two first round picks on two other premium positions, I think the Bears did pretty well.

Classic lol trades high 2nd round pick for good (not elite) player “OMG MAJOR STEAL.” This fanbase lives in an alternate reality

Yea we’re giving up a pick around #35th overall for him, not a steal at all. That’s a high price to pay.
Who else can we get that’s of his calibre at pick #35?
