If it’s all about worrying about the draft pick spot. It’s more advantageous to win in this scenario, with how the rules are established. Winning subjugates the other long term with controlling their destiny to a certain extent.

We should definitely win this one. I think that’s the first time I’m saying that all season. I’m a little worried though as it looks like Baegent is starting again and if he turns the ball over like he has been, I do not think we will win

Here’s what I’m rooting for. Posted before but I wasted a lot of time on it and it got buried.

We need a 40 - 40 tie. The Bears go down 21-0 before ever touching the ball because Velus muffs and fumbles 3 straight kickoffs. He’s literally cut from the team on the sideline after the 3rd turnover. Hightower rips his name off the back of his jersey and kicks him in the ass as he goes to the locker room. The Bears finally get the ball and to everyones surpirse here comes Fields. He looks sharp, making quicker decisions, spreading the ball around. Evans fumbles on the 1 yard line. The Panthers drive 99 yards with ease except for a couple sacks. One from Pickens and one from Sweat. They are down 28-0. It’s still the 1st quarter. Fields looks sharp again and drives them down to the 5. Whitehair proceeds to false start on the next 5 plays until they pull him and he too is cut on the sideline. Carter goes in. Then Patrick gets called for holding on the next 5 plays. He gets pulled and is cut. Kramer goes in. The drive stalls because Getsy calls 3 straight runs up the gut. Santos kicks a 55 yard field goal. 28-3. The camera cuts to a suite in the stadium. There are FBI agents putting George and Virgina in handcuffs. The announcers are stunned. Meanwhile the game continues. The Panthers drive down and score again. They miss the extra point. It’s 34-3. Fields drives again and looks better than he ever has. Something has changed in him clearly. They get to the 10 when Getsy calls a double reverse that ends up in the hands of the recently re-signed Dainty Penis. He fumbles and the Panthers return it for a touchdown. As they are kicking the extra point, Kevin Warren, Greg Brags, Bearman, Staley, and a mob of Bears fans come out of the tunnel. They sieze Flus and Getsy, string them up to a rail 1920s style, hoist them on their shoulders, and run them out of the stadium. The Panthers miss the extra point again. 40-3. Fields, completely unphased by all this, hits Scott on a bomb that traveled 75 yards in the air but he couldn’t get out of bounds and the half ends. Kevin Warren issues a statement for the media at half time. It just says “deal with it.” The Bears come out of the tunnel. The only coaches and staff that remain are Hightower and his assistants, Tony Medlin, and the water boy. It’s announced that Fields will be calling the offense, and Jack Sanborn will be calling the defense. The Panthers recieve, call a fair catch. The defense sacks Young 3 straight times, all by Pickens, and force a punt. The first play of the drive Fields bombs it to Moore, 80 yards in the air for a TD. 40-10. The Bears sack Young twice, both by Sweat, followed by a pick six for Gordon. 40-17. On the next play the Panthers run to the left for a 8 yard gain but Johnson forces a fumble and recovers a fumble. The next play Fields scrambles for a TD. 40-24. During the kickoff, Warren walks back out of the tunnel carrying one of those giant checks and presents it to Johnson. He’s been extended, and it’s a great deal for both sides. The next drive, the Panther manages to put together a drive that eats up most of the 4th quarter but ends with Billings blocking a field goal try. Roschon busts off a 50-yard run. Then, Fields hit Mooney in the back corner of the endzone with a 35-yard laser beam. Mooney toe taps while making a one-handed behind the back grab. Fields hits Kmet for the 2-point conversion. 40-32. During the kickoff, Warren comes out of the tunnel with yet another giant check. This time, it’s for Mooney, who was extended on a team friendly but fair deal. The Panthers have a long drive but it ends when Stevenson tips the ball and it’s picked off by Brisker on the 1 yard line with 1:03 remaining. Fields drives down the field like a man possessed. On the drive, he completes passes to every eligible receiver on the Bears activee roster, on a 15 play drive, using no time outs. It ends with a TD pass to Roschon as time expires. It’s 40-38. Per the rules the Bears get to attempt the extra point. A timeout is called and once again here comes Warren from out of tunnel. He’s got a player with him in uniform. It’s Akeim Hicks! Warren has a chat with the refs. They all nod in agreement. They line up for the two point conversion with Hicks in the backfield. Fields takes the snap, hands it to Hicks, but wait, he pulled it back at the last second. It’s a fake. Fields rolls out, Hicks destroys some poor defensive lineman on the Panthers and burst into the end zone, Fields lets it rip, a Panther player gets his hand on it but ball doesn’t deflect at all, it just shatters every bone in that poor players hand and hits Hicks who is standing all alone in the back corner of the endzone for a successful 2 point conversion. 40-40.

Who could have imagined that this years Bears most important game would come down to having to beat a one win team.

And having serious doubts about their chances.

The Panthers’ O-line is atrocious.

Their best defensive starter is out with a concussion.

They have a bottom 5 receiving core.

If Chicago doesn’t put up at least 30 on the Panther, Eberflus needs to be fired right after the game ends.

If the Panthers puts up more than 24 points, even if they lose, Eberflus still needs to be fired.

The fact that this game can go either way just shoes how bad the Chicago Bears are.

I’ll never forget the playoff game between these teams when Steve Smith just went nuclear. Ruined my week.

Here’s a story:

Matt Eberflus and Get Cutesy are stranded on a boat off the coast of North Carolina.

They are running out of food, there’s only ocean water, for some reason they have been able to keep four packs of cigarettes dry but they are running out of them too.

They wake up Thursday morning and Eberflus wants a smoke but he can’t find any matches. He turns to Getsey to ask if he has seen any.

Getsey takes the cigarette from Eberflus and throws it overboard.

Even Matt thought that was a bad play call and asked him about it.

Luke said “I made the whole boat one cigarette lighter.”

I’ll let you know how this story plays out.

Bagent has his best game of his budding career, and the argument to start him gets more intense. Fields then comes back and plays his most well rounded football of his career and the Bears end the season on a relatively high note, and head into next year gambling on him for the near future. We get a high enough pick to grab MHJ and we go all in on building our team around JF1 where he becomes our franchise QB for a decade plus. Bagent stays on to be our backup for a while but eventually another team takes him to be their QB, because he’s shown too much potential for someone not give him a shot. He goes onto having a very solid NFL career and being a fan favorite for years to come. The Bears hit their stride in 2024 and go on to be serious perennial contenders and even win the trophy a couple of times.
