Luke Getsy: We need to execute.

Dan Campbell: I should not have put them in that position.

For as much praise as Detroit gets their last few games have made me want nothing to do with their staff or playcalling. They have a shitload of talent on their roster which is making up for a ton of mistakes

It’s very 2018 Nagy Bears. Hot for a good 20 game period. Then everyone figures you out and it stops working.

The Lions don’t have many games out of market. I’ve only seen them play 3 times this year and all 3 games had some questionable decisions with a lot of turnovers.

Hope they clean house office and bring in Ben Johnson from Detroit. He’s taken Detroit offense to contenders with a mid qb. He knows how to call plays and build o lines.

Every time they run into a decent defense they seem to struggle. Shit, the completely struggled on us. When you have a top O line like they have it isn’t hard to scheme.

Hope they clean house and bring in Ben johnson Matt Nagy from kc. He’s taken Detroit kc offense to contenders with a 2nd year qb. Same shit different asshole. They need a competent coach and players with actual talent and not a laundry list of excuses. It was the exact same shit in 2017

I really don’t know that he would want to come here though. That locker room and staff have way too great of chemistry. I doubt he will want to play against his buddies when he can go to another team that is less dysfunctional.

Nagy was a QB coach if I remember correctly. Ben Johnson is already an OC so at least he has experience in that capacity. Just need a reliable DC. What’s Fangio doing these days?

Nagy was the oc but Reid still called the plays most of the time. The issue with Nagy is that he was hard nosed in running things HIS way and would adjust his game plan. What Nagy did in his game plan with Fields against Cleveland was criminal.

Nagy took over play calling in KC in 2017 and was largely credited with bringing their offense back to life.

But that didn’t happen until December and iirc Andy took it back as some point and then gave it back to Matt when the chiefs spectacularly shit the bed in the playoffs where Matt admitted to calling every play.

Fangio is on the Phins I believe. Also, Getsy was a QB coach too with no play calling experience who we let call plays. Ben Johnson would be our first hire in recent memory that actually came from an OC role. Most teams hire from a coordinator role for head coaches, why the Bears decided to make QB coaches into head coaches is beyond me, they must’ve thought it would develop their QB’s which simply hasn’t happened

Dan Campbell is literally the theoretical HC you always want. Let’s his coordinators specialize and focus on their sides of the ball. Help out where needed. But in the end, he is the HEAD coach. So he’s there to lead. Focus on morale, locker room, overarching strategy. The staff they’ve built over there is what I dream of for us

    Spot the leader…

Justin Herbert: I could have put my guys in better positions to make plays.

Justin Fields: Yeah, Tyler just misjudged it. He apologized to me personally after the game. He makes that catch and it’s pretty much over.

He didn’t say that during the postgame press conference. If he would have, you’re right, it would’ve been slightly different.

And to be clear, Luke Getsy didn’t simply say “we need to execute” either. Not defending him, but the team is full of scapegoaters and guys who refuse to take responsibility.

You can justifiably criticize Fields’ play in many areas, but to call him a bad teammate or leader is so far off base I question whether you’re a true fan or just a troll. The man has literally been taking personal responsibility for dog shit offensive line and receiver play for 3 years. The fact that your argument is based off one occasion in which he lightly holds a rookie accountable (while also subsequently building him back up) is completely ridiculous. GTFO with this petty ass bullshit.

It’s not remotely based one on instance. And what are you talking about he’s taken responsibility for the line? You’re talking about a dude that needed to call a second press conference two hours apart to walk back blaming the coaching staff?

The team and fanbase have done everything possible to make excuses and give him opportunities, and I hope he succeeds. But he has very much deflected responsibility when given the opportunity.

Imagine beating a coach in charge of leading a roster to win games and not being able to execute as a coach. I will 100% agree that players will have tough games but when you have 2 seasons with dismal performance and results the blame shift more to the organization and coaching staff. I have a feeling Warren is really going to clean house.

Why clean house?. We did that 2 years ago. Do you know that this year isn’t about playing to win? Coaches are coaching to develop. It’s up to players to develop and male plays and execute. When each stops developing and not good enough, they get replaced. Like it or not… lol
