  • I really hate it when people bring inaccurate info into discussions to prove their point. Especially, when trying to argue a pro Fields take in a sub with this amount of toxicity. It just gives the opposition more fuel to hate against their point.

It’s obvious, if you watch the games, that Getsy was screen heavy in the first 2-3 weeks and allllllllll through off and preseason. He allowed Fields to do his thing for DEN and WAS. Went back to more short stuff against MIN first game before Fields got hurt. Was 50/50 with Bagent. Lions game Fields was doing his thing again and then last night, it’s like Getsy had to make up for all the screens he didn’t call since week 3 lol.

Like, just watch the games and you’ll easily see when Getsy calls screen heavy games. He really didn’t do that since week 3 and was alot more balanced with it since then, before last night.

  • The only difference is Canada is legitimately alot worse than Getsy and Canada had been with the steelers longer.

By now, I’m probably well known for being extremely critical of Getsy. And it’s not bc I don’t think he can be a decent to good OC, it’s that he has shown he can properly gameplan for Fields but then doesn’t stick with it. And then obviously the conservative 2nd halves when bears are up by more than one score.

But, with Flus being that ceo HC, I wonder if he’s the one directing the conservative plans.

At this point, I’m done with Flus, he can get fired. But, we can’t fire him and Getsy, bc that leaves the team without a DC or a OC and then, of course, HC.

Let Getsy stay, have Hightower be the HC. We have a couple vet position coaches to move to DC. We don’t have the same on the offensive side, so like I said Getsy stays and maybe he will be less likely to shut it down with a lead?

Either way, it’s never going to happen. The players seem to still like him even if he needs to go.

  • If it means anything, 2 main guys on the Athletic that live and breath the college game (Dane and Mike) have planted their flags.

    1. Dan Brugler (Hes famous for his monster ‘The Beast’ draft guide) recently changed Maye to the top guy.

    2. Nate Tice has had Maye as his top QB guy forever, way before Caleb’s off games recently.

Id say, hes not generational, but noone will ever be Manziel again. Johnny was literally the biggest and largest red flag in recent memory. Its no way fair to put Caleb there (but i know what you mean by bringing Manziel up).

Caleb is looking like “just” a top 3 guy and I put quotes around just bc that shouldnt be frowned upon. Theres a bunch of people on this sub saying to basically ignore what he has been struggling with and to just listen to the generational stuff. Why would you do that? You need to look at film at the end of the day and not remember his hype. His film recently has been less than generational. But, that doesnt mean he cant be good at the next level.

Its really weird around here. Its like people on the sub are already protecting Caleb, thinking hes going to be the next bears QB.

  • Getsy is more than capable of calling a good gameplan for Fields and it doesn’t involve what Nagy had to do to Trubisky in Mitchs final year.

The best way to answer your question is to watch the film review from guys like Chase and JT (there’s obviously other guys who are legit). Watch their analysis on weeks 1, 2, 4, 5. The film guys love and applaud Getsy in the 4 and 5 weeks and you see Justin getting the ball out on time. Fields is at his best when he gets some easy layup things and things that are instinctual to him at the beginning of the game. He’s a rhythm passer and his swag shows and the rest of the game he’s able to be comfortable and run alot of the plays that Getsy really wants for his offense.

I for one am probably done explaining it on this sub. Just too many downvotes and clueless users who obviously don’t care to take the time to read a thought-out response or know enough to have one. Best is to just take the experts words for it while seeing the film

  • Flus needs to keep throwing in some blitz packages, even if the pressure does continue to get better with Sweat. Wish he setup some inside blitz packages and not just around the tackles to get in the qbs face. Also, have the DBs play closer coverage on the zone calls.

Getsy needs to consistently make game plans where he’s giving Fields stuff that meets his strengths. He doesn’t need to make Fields constantly moving after the snap, but Fields has been night and day when Getsy gets him going early with easy run calls, PA, bootlegs, etc. Getsy did that in the Broncos and WAS games, Fields got into rhythm and his confidence up, and it bled into the other pocket passing calls and him getting rid of the ball faster.

Getsy has shown over and over to turn into Nagy and keep going back to HIS conservative, boring offense instead of the other games he’s called for Fields/Bagent where film analysts have given Getsy a ton of credit.

  • Word on Jaylon is he is expecting top 5 money and he hasnt been that type of player. He wants closer to $20m a season, but him being around #10 corner, I believe Poles offered around $16m a year. (this is all just from reports that have popped up)

Poles gave his agent permission to seek a trade. Word is that while the bears received some offers, the contract money Jaylon was asking for is waaaaaaaaay out there and not at all close to what he deserves.

I assume some of the teams probably offered 4th rounders or something in hopes to knocking some sense into him about his contract requirements.
