If it wasn’t obvious when they shanked a game tying 35 yard kick last week, the Pats are tanking. They are choosing to lose games. They are playing for the top pick.

I think missing Foreman played a larger role then we thought. Obviously Herbet isn’t 100% since he would come in for 1 run then disappear the rest of the series. Johnson, a 3rd string rookie, played what felt like the entire game. Foreman has been the main back since Herbet went down 6 weeks ago so not having him was a big change.
With that said, I think the playcalling and Justin need to vastly improve. It felt like whenever he did drop back there was time and he normally had someone who was open and Fields resorted to scrambling over looking at his 3rd/4th option. That created a lot of missed opportunities and the terrible fumble.
I think its obvious he has issues reading the field, which is normally what happens to top pick QB’s who get fizzled out. Justin gets a lot of credit because he throws a decent deep ball and his legs make people overlook plays where he clearly misses a wide open receiver and decides to run around the pocket and ends up settling for a 4 yard run.
Every game, you can look at the film and see it consistently. St. Brown and Kmet were standing wide open half the time last game. Or the RB put up a block and and was wide open in the middle of the field with nobody around. Fields normally chooses to run around over just looking at his 3rd and 4th options. I think that’s my main problem with him.
Although that was nearly a rinse repeat of how we lose games, it was about damn time this team figured out how to win a game like that. That’s learning how to win. The Getsy playcalling continues to annoy me but Flus’s defense is starting to look elite.
Well boys, this is Field’s final test. He’s never put together a game winning drive.
Feels like this happens every game.
Think we know what bets the refs threw in before kickoff.
I’m rooting for the Bears, but my fantasy team needs Dobbs to go off. I feel like I’m going to be disappointed regardless of what happens.
I think Poles is hoping whoever finished 2 or 3 wants to move up to take a QB. That way he can trade down for additional picks. Otherwise, Poles may want to take a QB.
Feel like this is a daily post on this sub. The answer is still the same, no. The McCaskey’s don’t fire coaches midseason. They’d only get rid of the coach if the coach did something that requires them to fire them immediately. Despite what this sub thinks, the fans are the people who hate him. The players and other coaches don’t have personal problems with him so he’ll be coaching until the season ends.
Anyone who watches the NFL/Draft coverage knew Stroud was never going to go #1. Dude was ranked #4-8 on most prospect boards and was not the #1 QB.
So no, I don’t think about this since it was never going to happen. What could have happened is we took Bryce Young and missed out on Moore and Wright. Otherwise, Will Anderson would be a Bear.
The Lions don’t have many games out of market. I’ve only seen them play 3 times this year and all 3 games had some questionable decisions with a lot of turnovers.
Pretty sure he’s gone because the ownership group is going to demand some major changes after 2 straight years of last place football. They usually hold onto the GM over the coach, especially if the GM didn’t hire the coach or choose the QB.
For as much praise as Detroit gets their last few games have made me want nothing to do with their staff or playcalling. They have a shitload of talent on their roster which is making up for a ton of mistakes
Its obvious Lawrence & Fields are the only QBs from that class that has potential to be a starter in the NFL. I guess Lance never got a fair shot at being a starter, but its not good when Mr. Irrelevant and Sam Darnold beat you so convincingly that your GM trades you to the first team willing to give him a draft pick.
That was actually one of Nage’s best decisions. The dude made the right move. Rookie QB’s benefit from sitting for a bit behind a guy who can teach they how to be a QB in the NFL. Even Mahomes sat his rookie season and it helped him get his feet wet before being thrown to the dogs.
I guess the OP forgot about that Browns game.
The proper way to do is hire your HC right away and let them decide if they want Fields or a Rookie QB. We’re going to end up with a top 3 draft pick, maybe even 2 of them. We should let the new coach decide if he wants to build a system around Fields or draft a QB who fits his scheme.
Flus is gone. No chance he returns at this point. That means an entire new coaching staff. With that said we’re probably going to hire a guy who’s won before and he can bring in the coaching staff and QB he wants.
If the Giants win out I want Tommy to bring the boys back to his house for dinner. Watching his mom cook for the team while they chill in the basement is primetime TV.
That still requires this franchise to pick the right QB…
