It’s getting late in the season now and we’re starting to see what this team is and what it isn’t.

Eberflus: I feel like this one’s has been answered. There has obviously been concerns around Eberflus the whole season, but after today I’m really not sure how you bring him back next year.

O-Line: This is probably the best I’ve felt about the line in a while. Outside of Center, I’ve been really happy with how the group has performed and i’m excited to see them moving forward.

Eddie Jackson: It’s sad to see, but I think it’s time to move on. He’s a great veteran presence but he has 100% lost a few steps.

What other questions do you think have been answered so far this year?

We need a new HC, staff & C.

We likely need to upgrade at QB, FS, WR2, DL.

    So a lot to fix.

    We need a center.

    We overpaid on linebackers

    Pass pro is better

Eberflus and the entire coaching staff are frauds (knew this last year)

Kmet and DJ Moore are solid.

Running defense has improved (in large part of teams passing on us at will)

Poles likes to bid against himself.

    JF1 TBD

Honestly, Jaylon Johnson isn’t a premier corner. Dude gets beat like a red headed step-child at least once per game.

This coaching staff is full of frauds and men incapable of leadership.

This team lacks discipline and identity. It shows up all 3 phases of the game, especially offense. Players don’t know where to line up, constant boneheaded penalties, guys running into each other, etc.

This team is extremely “behind the times” on both sides. Little-to-no misdirection, creativity, or innovation on either side. Our coaches call games like it’s the preseason, every single week, and it makes you wonder what they actually do DURING the week to prepare.

An extension of the previous point — our coaching staff is out of their depth. They’re still falling victim to classic traps that are hallmarks of bad coaching: playing not to lose/being overly conservative, focusing more on Xs and Os over putting guys in the best position to succeed, failing to adapt, etc. They seem out of touch with the players as a whole.

This team needs a leader, BADLY. The McCaskey’s need to swallow their pride and go after Harbaugh, but honestly I wouldn’t mind a candidate out of left field: Dave Toub. Make Toub an offer he can’t resist, he’s past due to get a shot as a HC.

The coaching is not good enough at game managing. At best they are above average coordinators. I feel like they have good plays at times but nobody manages the game well. What’s crazy is the last 2 years I’ve watched a lot of good quarters of offense and defense with a lot of talent and flashes of big potential. We had 0 big plays not long ago now we’re throwing 40 yard TDs and gashing chunks.

Fields is a good QB you could build a team around Fields but this is not the right coaching staff for him. He didn’t take a sack until the 4th quarter I know they barely threw the ball but that’s still significant to see. He’s still a great athlete and seeing him step up in the pocket was beautiful. The offense has the tools to be great. Wright had a great game aside from being beat by hutch at the end but I think the whole offense was in we just blew a 2 possession lead in 3 min shock. If you ask me today I really think the best choice is draft MHJ and the best player available and let Poles pick a new coach ideally someone who understands that time of possession is fucking worthless and clearly believes in Fields, there needs to be culture shock to coach who understands the modern nfl.

Realistically Williams or Maye could be better than Fields but I really don’t think when you watch this team you would say Fields is the problem. Give him his 2 years and pay him next year if he plays well enough to start the season.

Am I the only one who thinks Fields would be an all-star running back? I know he probably wouldn’t be interested but can you imagine him taking a pitch and throwing a deep ball, or breaking off a 50 yard run?

    • Playcalling and 2 minute schematics on both sides of the ball need to be changed.
    • The defense is slowly becoming something. Needs another premier edge rusher and depth at DT.
    • We need a center and depth on tackles/guards in the pass block.
    • We need a big go-to WR. Someone who will be left open when they double DJ and will win 50/50 balls (cough cough MHJ)
    • RB Room is great.
    • TE room is great.
    • LB room is great.
    • We need depth at safety
    • QB should be left up to the new coaching staff.
    • Santos is one of the best kickers inside 55.
