The Panthers might not win another game until next season. The Bears will probably win a couple more games pushing them out of the top 5. Harrison will not fall out of the top 5. We guarantee ourselves a WR who has a good chance of being the next Jefferson/Chase. DJ Moore and MH would look mighty fine next season. We can spend our actual pick on OL or DL.

No one picking 1 is drafting MHJ. If you don’t like Williams or Maye you trade back for a haul and take someone else. A QB is getting picked #1, else I will sniff glue.

Well kinda. WR has gone first overall just 3 times in nfl history, and not since Keyshawn Johnson almost 30 years ago. Ultimately, unless the cardinals trade down or decide to make Kyler a $40m/year backup, it may be necessary.

MHJ or 2 future first round picks and 3 day 2 picks. Potentially a good, proven player as well. Pretty easy choice in my mind. People need to quit believing MHJ is the messiah who’s as valuable as a franchise QB.

I think Poles is hoping whoever finished 2 or 3 wants to move up to take a QB. That way he can trade down for additional picks. Otherwise, Poles may want to take a QB.

Nope it’s pretty smart to do it that way still some good qbs at 4 and 5 if we want to do that way. Oregon’s QB would be fine

I think we should trade our top five picks for two sets of hauls. I feel like there are enough good players in this draft that we’ll be able to have our cake and eat it too.

Yes. If you don’t need a QB the value of the pick to a team that does is far more than any WR. If you have another top 5 pick already it would be even more insane to take him at 1.

To be fair that team is 1-10 and probably won’t win another game all season. Drafting a rookie QB into trash situation doesn’t fix your franchise

A receiver hasn’t gone 1 in 30 years. Yes its crazy to take a WR at 1, even crazier this year. Organization malpractice.

As someone in a previous thread said, if you think it’ll happen, MHJ is +2000 to go #1.

But reality is a thing and the Bears are taking either Caleb or Maye #1.

I don’t see a world we don’t either take a QB or trade back it’s just to valuable of a pick not to get some assets

I think there’s a realistic scenario where the Bears end up with two high picks, decide to keep Fields, trade the 1st pick for a big return, then still draft MHJ.

I don’t think you can get Williams and MHJ though. MHJ + Maye MIGHT be possible but is incredibly unlikely.

The Bears should trade the #1 pick to the Texans for C.J. Stroud and then trade Justin Fields and the #5 pick to the Patriots for the #3 pick to get MHJ.

My unpopular opinion amongst Redditors, but not actual football experts is that if the Bears get two top five picks, they need to move #1 to some team that desperately needs a QB (the Bears don’t) get a lower pick and maybe a player or two that can help immediately. There are far too many holes on the team (especially the sieve like defense) that can’t be fixed by adding Harrison or a new QB. You have the high picks, get the most bang for your buck in terms of quantity of upper echelon picks. There are many, many areas that need reinforcement. The defensive line (pass rush) the offensive line (Bears QB still running for their lives) and the defensive back field. Mahomes, Goff, Wilson, and others picked the secondary apart. Part of that is because of poor pass rush, but coverage was bad in those losses too.
