Leftists are inclined towards egalitarianism and comradre, with the view that a handful of selfish people are hording wealth to the immiseration of all. Reactionaries are inclined towards eugenics and the theory that a favored few deserve it all, with the view that “culling the herd” of undesirables is important and necessary work for a society to perform.
You’d like to think that a leftist would have been the one to end Kirk’s career abruptly. But the idea of a militant left is so tied up with the idea of Evil Foreigner “Tankies” (and to a lesser degree, the clumsy disastrous youth movements of the 90s/00s) that its totally alien to anyone in any active organizing roll.
