I don’t even know, man. Popped on 670 yesterday and heard people lecturing Parkins for daring to be unimpressed or not chalk that game up to evidence for keeping Fields. What the hell are people seeing? Am I losing my mind?

Swear to god if I see one post about how Fields proved he’s got the clutch gene this week I’m gonna lose it
I know we’re a joke franchise of late, but I wouldn’t be shocked if the Bears are the dream job for MANY of these guys. The ‘85 nostalgia/legacy franchise cache does still have weight, and being the dude to win again in Chicago is legend shit. I’m sure it’s considered attractive.
Let’s check the % chance on a QB taken mid round or undrafted, shall we
The Bears would’ve drafted a day two receiver if they didn’t get Moore, obviously, maybe even Dell himself, who knows. Dell, Mooney, and Kmet would be better than Dell, Collins, and Schultz IMO.
I’m not sure how Will Anderson makes Stroud better. Also didnt say the Bears would be over .500.
Stroud is balling his way into MVP talks on the only roster that was arguably worse than the Bears last year, with a defensive head coach, and people are saying still no
I constantly feel like I’m taking crazy pills on this sub
The Chiefs are obviously still a good franchise, but the receivers they’ve surrounded him with are indeed criminal. Mahomes would probably kill for Moore + Mooney right now.
The “why” isn’t complicated. The outcome of almost every Fields game-winning drive in his career being a fumble or pick will erode confidence pretty quickly.
I’m not saying the conservative coaching is correct – it isn’t, Fields is the quarterback and you gotta ride it out with him regardless so may as well ask him to sling it. I don’t think it’s any major mystery why a coaching staff would be spooked, though.
You saw Fields lead us to 26 points off four turnovers, throw for 160 yards, and fumble on the final drive to seal the loss and concluded that’s all you can ever ask for from a QB?
I’m not even shitting on Fields. Especially you factor in his rushing, he had a solid game, but I don’t see how that was so good that it eliminates drafting one from the conversation. Bears fans really have the bar all the way underground for QB standards.
Feel like there’s an assumption here that anyone who thinks Caleb > Fields must also like Flus and Getsy.
I want a new staff and a new QB. I want a reboot entirely here. I don’t hate Fields, I think he’s up and down but provides some big plays and certainly wasn’t the primary reason we lost this game. I also am so, so unspeakably tired of every game he starts ending with a strip sack fumble.
I just don’t think ANY of it is good enough.
Caleb Williams: has a good game
Bears fans: “Anyone else think Caleb sucks?”
You know it’s bad when you have to put up a Reddit thread making excuses for why your QB can’t be expected to win six days in advance
Was just saying this in another thread, but some pockets of the fandom having such an aversion to taking a top QB like we’ve been burned by it a million times before is so strange to me. We can bicker about whether he’s “generational” or just a good prospect, but we have literally never in franchise history taken a QB that even flirted with “generational.” Not once. I’d like to try?..
I genuinely feel like while this is damning with faint praise, if we’re talking general HR violations rather than crimes, there are probably double digit NFL organizations looking the other way rather than firing these guys. Hell, look at how the Texans were handing out non-disclosures for Watson until he pissed them off.
I’d rather get rid of these guys now than learn about them in ten years, particularly if either of them were going beyond like, inappropriate remarks and such.
I’d go 4, large gap, then 3, 2, 1. 3 is contingent on the defense looking extremely professional the rest of the way and no more big coaching blunders. Eberflus is on thin ice but if the team looks solid outside of shaky passing game production I could humor it.
I don’t see any compelling reason for Fields to stay – I don’t want to run it back with this same exact setup again, and I don’t see a reason to give him a third coaching staff. It’s not viable.
