Every one of them were thought to be long term elite WRs. So many other top 5 picks thought to be generational talents ended up being busts.
Most draft picks despite how good they were in college are not game changers.
The only reason to not take a chance on a QB is Fields is it.
Wild that everyone keeps saying that Flus and Getsy are the worst coaches in Bears history. Had people saying they would rather have Nagy or Trestman back for the rest of the season.
Confidence is the most important key to winning. If you think you’re going to win, your play dramatically improves.
Having the locker room split hurts confidence. Knowing if you have a bad game you could be replaced at any time is bad for confidence.
Trade Fields and get draft someone who can contribute now. It’s what’s best for the team and for him.
Teams tend to win an extra half game after firing their head coach, especially early on.
However it’s difficult to compare any of them to our situation. Normally the DC and OC kind of step up and take over their side of the field, and the let the HC just do HC stuff.
Bears already lost their DC and the HC is effectively the DC.
So let’s say we fire Flus and Getsy. Now we have a positional coach or outsider as our HC, OC, and DC. As far as I know, that’s never happened.
Let’s just say we fire Flus, the team will have been through 3 DC changes in a single season.
On top of that, we decided to go with a really young coaching staff to back up our first time HC, OC and DC. It’s great to have alot of young fresh tallent you can shape, but now that we;re in a situation like this, you don’t have much experience to lean on. How do you fire your coaching staff and trust things are going to fall apart further?

And to anyone who says it can’t get worse, it can always get a whole lot worse. We not only have to worry about this season, but this offseason where we have to convince free agents we were just a QB and coach away.
With games like the Lions, where we barely lost, we can do that. If we lost by 20 points, maybe not.

Our roster is okay all around outside of QB and C. Not alot to be excited about, but I’d be okay with all our other positions if we went into next season with our current healthy starter.
What we need is stars, and there’s not a position I don’t think we couldn’t stand to upgrade. We should take the best player available no matter what.
If we draft a tackle, maybe Jones, Wright, or the rookie can swing inside. Maybe we trade one.
When Eberflus reads this, I’m sure he will be convinced.
How many QBs have failed all 3 years starting on the team that drafted them, then succeeded long term elsewhere? The only QB I can think of in the past 10+ years is Tannehill and he just got replaced, and of course he outplayed Feilds on his original team. Maybe Geno Smith, but he’s just looking passable rather than good.
If he does become a franchise QB somewhere else, then it was the right move (because it never happens), and we accept that football is crazy.

It’s going to be higher than this year, but it’s not going to be anywhere near where it’s set now.
It’s got a tighter spread than Monday Night Football. It’s also a must win for the Bears as they have the Panthers 1st. There are alot worse games to watch this week.
Belichick has a hard ass coaching style. Players hate it, but will deal with it when the coach has earned their respect. You do it his way, and you get results.
His system also looks for very specific traits in its players. Stars on the Patriots tend to not play well on other teams.
Now coaches under Belichik learn his system, and his coaching style. They try to bring the Patriot way elsewhere. The roster isn’t built for it, and the players are not happy.
People in here have very short term memories. However a team or player is playing this year is how they have always been.
Chiefs offense is the same, outside last year they had Juju being somewhat reliable as a 2nd receiving option, and now they don’t. Even then, the scheme is getting them open, and Mahomes is hitting them in the hands, they are just then dropping the ball.

Bears. Two likely top 10 picks, a WR1, and a ton of money.
If they can hire a good coach, and draft a good QB this team can be really good.
Packers don’t have that option, and Vikings don’t have a reasonable chance at a new QB. Bears are unlikely, but at least there’s a reasonable path forward.
Megatron was alot of fun to watch, but he didn’t win many games.
Assuming we’re in contact with him, and hammer out a deal before the trade that’s in line with his actual value, I’m 100% in.
Philly is loaded everywhere. It’s not like they have holes elsewhere and loaded up their line.
