2 sacks today thus far against Northwestern. 7.5 on the year from the interior as a D tackle. Wouldn’t be mad at all if he ended up our 3 tech.

I really don’t think we should trade down. Especially if we get two top 5 Picks. In the NFL you need elite players and drafting as high as possible is your best chance. I get there’s a lot of holes but if you keep trading out of the top pick you keep passing on blue chip prospects.

Counterpoint: Trading back allows you the chance to possibly get MORE blue chip players if you acquire more 1st round picks. The trade with Carolina netted us arguably 3 blue chippers (Moore, Wright, and this year’s 1st) while all indications are they completely whiffed with the 1st overall pick.

I’m in the camp that we draft MHJ no matter what, but if we can trade our other 1st for a decent haul I would absolutely do that and take either Newton or the best EDGE on the board.

I wouldn’t bury Bryce young yet, but they certainly missed on the better qb. I agree with you on the proliferation of picks, teams are valuating higher picks for top qb’s differently and are willing to trade a lot of capital. It’s rarer for teams to trade multiple #1s to move up to draft edge or we, or any other position for the matter. Poles move was masterclass. I don’t know such a package exists that fits out needs this year, unless LV wants to move to #1 and are willing to deal maxx Crosby and a first + 2nd or two.

I wouldn’t be opposed to drafting him, especially as an Illini fan, except for the fact we spent a second and a third last year on DT

I really like him but I think I‘d rather go with an Edge. Probably the more impactful position and we could need a young passrusher next to Montez Sweat. Possibly with a trade down to get a 2nd and select a WR2 with it

I thought those were shitty picks back then, and I still feel they are. Those should have been 3rd or 4th round backs. Dexter and Pickens look like JAGS

Philly is loaded everywhere. It’s not like they have holes elsewhere and loaded up their line.

I like him as a player and think he fits. So go from there.

Also if it means Justin Jones is more likely not to be on this team sign me up. I know everyone says that’s going to happen anyway but still.

He’s basically the only good player on the Illinois defense. When he got a targeting penalty earlier in the year we completely feel apart.

    He’s an absolute monster.

I like the kid but I’d much rather sign Justin Madubuike in free agency to be out 3 t and draft a edge, get mhj wit the 1st pick

Been watching him all year as an Illini fan. He’s absolutely going to be a multiple time pro bowler. No doubt in my mind. Some teams will regret passing on him in the first round.
