I don’t get my poles gets so much hate. Yes, he chose Flus. However, I think people forget that was from a list of three guys provided to him by polien. All I know is he knows talent. Braxton jones, Darnell Wriggt, brisker, Gordon, Dexter, Bagent and more. He’s also got sweat, Moore, Edward’s, and Edmund’s. Also got Carolina’s first round. Dude can get and has gotten a solid team. Now we we need a coach to mold it.

I think this is Poles’s PR team at work here. Trying to save his job before decision time end of season.

Ill give you Moore, Wright. But the rest, I dunno about.

Claypool disaster has to be mentioned. Jury’s still out on Edmunds’. Still not sure letting Roquan go was smart (yeah yeah he didnt “fit” the system, but Eberflus and his system are outta here soon, sooo…)

Bagent??? What??? I mean I guess its nice we might have a mediocre backup QB, but thats not something to highligh on your resume.

A lot of the guys you just mentioned wouldn’t even be starters on good teams.

They are “good” only in comparison to our practice squad players. You also fail mention any of Poles obvious misses, feels like this is a bad faith argument.

Just because you’re a bears fan and know these guys’ names doesn’t make them good. Wright? You could also argue he passed on stroud and Carter. Traded for Claypool. Drafted velus.

I think it’s still too early to evaluate his ability to evaluate talent. He’s had some solid hits and some big whiffs. This sub also drastically overrates a lot of players on the roster.

My bigger concern with Poles was choosing to put our young QB in the situation of dealing with the coaching staff for a second year. He pretty much sealed the deal on Fields being a bust in Chicago when Flus and Getsy came back for round two.

Poles lucked into the #1 pick last season. Made a good trade. That’s it. He’s missed on free agency, missed on the draft. How do you not draft Carter at 9? Had he signed offensive linemen in free agency he wouldn’t had to draft Wright. Who if we are being honest had one good season in college and has been just ok at the NFL level.

I think Poles should stay. Let him actually pick his coach without interference from Phillips. Poles, Cunningham get the final say with some input from Warren. Just those 3. We don’t need Polian or anyone else. And definitely do not involve anyone from the McCaskeys family!

If Poles willingly allowed his coaching hire to be selected by someone else (George McCaskey) then he deserves all the hate that comes his way.

Shit man! It’s my job to lead others and if someone came in saying that my job depended on the performance of other people but I wasn’t allowed to choose my trainers or to choose the culture I wanted to institute…I’d resign.

My job depends on my ability to lead and that ability requires that I be the one making decisions…not some rich kid who looks at all of this the way a fan does.

Honestly I would just love an explanation at some point about what the fuck happened at the Center position. I got downvoted all off season when people kept saying it’s ok cause Whitehair was a pro bowler five fuckin years ago.

Plus his drafting has been mediocre. We’ve used a lot draft picks on secondary and most of them look like just bodies. A bunch of mediocre guys on this mediocre roster he’s building. Can’t scout talent unless it’s someone else proven star or a top ten pick.

This teams best players are still Pace holdovers two years later.

He is, he was a big part in building the Chiefs.

Now if he could just do that here, that would be great.

It’s actually a list of 2 cuz Quinn (wisely) pulled out from consideration. It was literally Flus or near 70 year old Caldwell.
