Listen, I’m no film expert or anything… But Fields ain’t it. He just flat out doesn’t see wide open receivers. JTs week 11 breakdown alone shows a couple clear misses that would have been a long TD or big chunk play. Modern NFL QBs need to be able to hit those big shots when they’re available. Fields is basically incapable if throwing with timing and anticipation, which is damning as a 3rd year QB.

His athleticism is undeniable. He can throw a beautiful ball, has good arm strength, and can throw from any platform. And obviously his rushing/playmaking abilities are elite. But that’s just not enough in the NFL.

Good coaching may have helped Fields better read defenses and throw with anticipation. But instead he landed in the Bears.

He will have guys open on deep in routes or posts… But just doesn’t throw it. It’s all over his tape.

Fields ain’t it. I wanted him to be the guy so bad. But this organization has ruined him. His athleticism is undeniable but his decision making is absolute trash. Trade him if we can otherwise let Williams/Maye sit behind him next year before releasing him.

I think Poles should stay. Let him actually pick his coach without interference from Phillips. Poles, Cunningham get the final say with some input from Warren. Just those 3. We don’t need Polian or anyone else. And definitely do not involve anyone from the McCaskeys family!

Recent mock I saw had Bears taking Maye at 2 and MHJ at 3. That honestly a dream scenario in my opinion.

Maye, DJM, MHJ, Kmet, and Herbert is a pretty solid skills group. Tyler Scott could be a good speed guy as a WR3

Scott has shown some good flashes and could be a decent WR3/4 on the team. This kind of response to a potentially game losing mistake shows maturity and a willingness to improve. I like it. Keep grinding.

Yea, I’d stop watching the Bears completely if that happens.

I like Maye more than Williams. I think Caleb has a higher ceiling due to his scrambling and play making ability but I can’t help but see some Johnny Football in his game. He could be Mahomes lite or her could be Johnny football.

Maye is still athletic and can run, but is a better pure passer that I think translates quicker and easier to the NFL. He can still run and he’s big so far from a statue.

If we can get Maye and MHJ then that’s infinitely better than Caleb and literally anyone else.

Bagent > Fields is the biggest Chicago sports meatball take. Fields is significantly more talented than Bagent.

Other than a good completion %, Bagent had an incredibly pedestrian Stat line last week. The ONLY reason we won is because the Raiders are a dumpster fire.

Maybe the playbook opens up a little more this week and we see more out of Bagent. But 162/1 isn’t going to make us competitive, ever.

I’m over Fields at this point. But he is sooooo much more talented than Bagent.
