It’s not fair people are talking about drafting another QB instead of building around him with competent coaching.

Is Fields better than Daniel Jones? I think a reasonable argument can be made that he is. Daniel Jones got paid 40million dollars. Are you comfortable with having to pay 20% of the salary cap to a guy that averages 160 passing yards a game? I’m not. Prepare to move on.

This is great example of how people can delude themselves into believing anything regardless of the overwhelming evidence to the contrary.

Fields stinks and I don’t see how anybody who watches him can come to any other conclusion

At what point is any sport fair? I will root for the dude until he’s benched or off the team but complaining that people aren’t being fair to an underperforming athlete on a garbage team is funny.

Not fair? It has been MORE than fair for a QB with a 6-20 record. he got 3 seasons to show that he was a competent QB. He is not.

Fair? We’re on year 3, and he’s made a couple million dollars. Ball out or GTFO

Year 3 of a team that lost 90% of games by the defense. And a team that knew Fields isnt a pocket passer with Nagy and goes and hires Luke Getsy whos play designs are for pocket passers. Nice try though

You realize we were needing a complete rebuild right? Our oline today is way better than when fields got drafted, but people act like this line today is what we’ve had. Like these offensive weapons are the same fields was brought up with. There’s a reason many of us agreed that THIS was fields prove it year, but instead all you guys are just saying fuck him, his years prior to the year he has a decent team is all that matters.

let the season play out and then judge fields. The rest of the team today is good enough that he should look good, and if he still doesn’t, we ditch him.

Then you have to factor in an extension for Fields and the decision seems really easy. He’s going to be going into yr4 do you really want to Extend him?

He doesn’t have to be extended this year, only optioned. But by skipping the option, they also run the risk of ending up in a Daniel Jones situation and paying big money to a bum.

My guess is they’re already moving on, unless he goes on an absolute tear for the rest of the year.

We can’t really build around him at this point if he’s off his rookie contract so it is what it is.

Copying from another of my comments. Take Johnson and insert any high demand coaching candidates this offseason

I totally agree Johnson COULD make Fields better. But do you think you can convince him to come here in those circumstances? That’s what I’m saying, people have this idea that a new coach could change Fields. But how many will want to take that on over going to a place they can either A) pick ‘their guy’ or B) have a much better QB in place, like Herbert in SD if Staley gets the boot???

Bringing in a new coaching staff, Bears are more likely to draft QB and replace Fields. Not less likely.

This thumb injury was by far the worst thing that could have happened to fields career in Chicago. Now we only have 7 games to see if we can rock with him. He very well may need to win all 7 to keep his job in Chicago.

People still only believe in fields because he went to OSU and is fast imo. Imagine if he had the same production but went to Purdue or something.

Fields has an opportunity to put all this to rest. I’m optimistic he will but he still has to do it.

Justin is not my QB, unless he plays out of his mind for the rest of the season
