So we’re going from “he has 6 games left to show he’s the guy” to “he has 5 games left to show he’s the guy”.
Meanwhile Poles is watching this and he’s thinking to himself “yeah, time to get new coaches and a new QB”.

Think about the other side, with hindsight as well, would the Texans do that? 100% no.
If anything I think Washington might be prepping Bienemy to be their HC and firing Ron Rivera in the offseason.
Their WR corps is complete ass, but at least they have Mahomes, Reid, and Kelce to live through. Although Kelce seems to be slowing down a bit. They’re gonna have to beef up that WR/TE room.
TLaw in a heartbeat.
You let the new HC pick his guy. If that’s Fields, so be it. If that’s Williams/Maye, so be it. Either way, this should tie Poles tenure with the Bears too. He picks the HC, and the HC picks the QB. If we still suck a few years later, all 3 are likely gone.
We had this with Trubisky/Nagy too. It was a meme at that point. Score on first drive or two. 0 points until the fourth quarter, 2 mins left. And then 2 minute Mitch in garbage time.
Eberflus and Getsy are 100% gone this season. Fields is most likely gone too and don’t tell me “oh well there’s still 6 games left for him to prove he’s the guy”. He’s not going to. Would be nice to have a consistently strong passer for once in a lifetime.
On the other hand, I do appreciate that Sweat and Sanborn sack. Good stuff.
That was one terrible game.
Bryce Young seems like a Trubisky/Nagy or Fields/Eberflus situation. Guy doesn’t seem to have the fire in him. Maybe he’ll get better down the road though.
Bienemy did a great job with Howell today even though they lost. Showed he can hang with a SB caliber team. That’s in spite of Rivera and JDR.
We need our Bienemy. Whether that’s to be paired with Fields, or Bagent, or some other QB next year, we need to get that coach right.
Honestly, the fact he led that drive to the FG kick and win, that was great. However, the fumbles and the total of 12 points after 4 turnovers by the Vikings is terrible and can’t be excused with just that last drive. Like others have said last night, if this was Jordan Love out there instead of Fields, literally everyone would have been saying bust out there.
