  • I don’t think any game has given us clarity. He’s had a few good games but even then it’s like “okay let’s string it together”. The truth is that most likely the rest of this season will play out how the season has played out so far. A lot of “we still don’t know what to think” games from JF with some moments of brightness and moments of “oh that was terrible.” That’s the way the offense has been called and designed.

At this point, Fields is really going to have to rise up above the offense and hopefully he has it but don’t really know. Chances are we end the season with the feeling we have now. We have no idea if he’s worth picking up the 5th year option or do we pick a QB.

  • I feel like yesterday was a typical Bears game if I’ve ever seen one. Good defense (albeit a backup QB) and ridiculously bad offense). I don’t even think the Bears won, one side just lost more slowly. Some thoughts

-Yesterday was another example that the coaching staff needs to go. But as the season goes on I am getting a greater feeling that Flus may stay. There is no doubt Getsy is going but I don’t know. He should go. Right now he has 7 wins in 2 seasons. There is no reason to keep him. I get the defense is playing well now but we actually do have talent on that end so they should be playing well.

    • Getsy has to be trying to get fired mid-season right? I have never seen a game plan like that. I get the Vikings blitz often but man it becomes so predictable. Maybe at least throw a slant in there. It was really bad. We’ve seen some bad offenses here and bad offenses due to coaching but man the offense yesterday didn’t even get a chance to suck.

    • You win the turnover battle by 4 and you fail to score a TD and win on a game winning FG. That should be a fireable offense. Another reason to fire Flus - yes they won, but I would say that this coaching staff just doesn’t know how to win and it’s rubbing off on the QB.

    • We can finish the season out with Fields and we will but it’s becoming more and more clear that it’s time to move on. Fields is not a great receiver away from being a top 10 QB. A lot of this is on the Bears but there’s just too much inconsistency with Fields. One play he is amazing, throws a dome the next 5 he’s missing receivers, holding on to the ball too long and has bad accuracy. It can get fixed, and if we were in a season where we probably didn’t have two top 5 picks maybe you give him a chance and pick up his 5th year. But that is not the case. At some point, regardless of bad play calling, great QBs still find a way to shine through and he’s only done that in bits and pieces. But I am looking forward to him picking it up the rest of the year.

  • Some thoughts

-the team is getting better. But it doesn’t really matter this year

    • a common theme this season - coaching staff needs to go. They are the ones holding this team back. It’s almost like they are still in tank mode. There is no second gear for this staff.

    • Fields played decent his first game back. So decent that it feels he never left. This has been a typical game for whatever Bears QB, especially Fields the last two seasons - about 150 - 205 through the air, about 1 TD. That’s it.

    • Fields is a dynamic player, the whole league knows that. His potential is still top 5 QB. But unfortunately he will never reach it. He may reach top 10, but I don’t think it’ll be on Chicago. If we can fetch a 2nd that would be great.

  • Some thoughts

This will be my shortest thoughts

    • I felt like as I was watching the first quarter the coaching staff and Poles got together and was like 'how dare the Packers be worse than us. We have to suck more. Let’s show them".

    • Anyone thinking that the two wins anyone earned anything - no. This staff sucks. Terribly. I am pretty sure Poles isn’t going anywhere.

    • Bagent in another year or two can be a premier backup. And that’s good.

    -Bears suck.
