I don’t know but if we are looking to trade it I hope we don’t make it known to the world that it’s the plan again - surely it’s worth less when we do that.

This is the most valuable 1.01 in years. We would be dumb to trade it honestly. Just take Williams and worry later.

    Probably either 3 1sts or 2 1sts and a 1st equivalent player. Along with a future 2nd and 3rd.

Then play that team again after they choose the wrong QB. Not like it hasn’t happened before.

We got three 1st rd picks (Kinda w/ DJ Moore) from Carolina for Bryce Young. It will be more to move up for Caleb Williams. Only 3 firsts doesn’t guarantee anything especially if Caleb Williams is anywhere as good as everyone thinks.

There’s literally a calculation that NFL teams use to determine fair market trades that are only for picks. So what a 1st pick is worth is already calculated.

As of today I think it’s worth whichever QB we like most.

With the hope fields balls out rest of season and we feel absolutely 100% confident we don’t need a QB, it becomes a debate of just take MHJ or move back.

For me the trade out would need to be similar to Panthers but with an elite defender keeping us in the top 5. Something like the below using todays draft spots as an example.

    • To 3 with giants would be pick 3, 35 and Dexter Lawrence for pick 1.

    • To 4 with Patriots is picks 4, 36, 25 and 26 1sts.

    • Assuming raiders in top 10, it’d be there pick + a 2[ND + Maxx Crosby.

If you’re reading this thinking, no chance they do that, I don’t fully disagree I also never thought a team would trade DJ Moore last offseason, so that’s what the Convo would become to me. An elite defender + picks to get the elite QB prospect.

Honestly though you’d have to really sell me to not just take MHJ in today’s NFL. Generational wr prospect that can be a Chicago bear the next decade. Just take the grandslam off the tee when it’s given.

I’m not trading the right to take Caleb Williams.

But if you want me to, I want an elite edge (Crosby or Burns), and then I want 3 or 4 firsts.

Not sure how people still have all this hope with Fields. I love the guy but lets be honest….It’s been 31 games now. He’s 6-21 with ONE 300 yard game. He has a record breaking sack rate.

I know we haven’t seen competent QB play as a fanbase, but this really isn’t it. A QB can elevate the situation around him if he’s REALLY the guy.

Because some people understand that developing a QB along with a Super Bowl winning roster takes time. They also understand that the Bears punted on Justin’s development last season by gutting the team and not signing a soul who was worth a damn to play with him. That roster last year was the worst roster in Bears history. We need to stop trying to find a savior at QB and actually build a team. Justin’s ceiling is as high as any QB you will get in any draft and dude is only going to be 25 next year.
