Went for a boogie last night, ended up walking home (only 4km) at 5am like the good ol’ days.

It’s a very calm walk that takes you over the johnson st. bridge which I’d say has one of the better views of the city. Didn’t see a soul on that walk. Just you, the footpath and the mission.

You’ve invented a cousin to the Italian dish called pasta e fagioli, which is soupy pasta and beans. Italians would not approve. But who cares, enjoy!

Fusili pasta, with baked beans, jalapenos, cheese, onion powder, a little pasta sauce, pepper, and tobasco.

I tell you what, I must have been chronically low on jalapenos and beans or something because GODDAMN it hit the spot!

A solid chunk (baked in a loaf pan) of mince, chopped onion, breadcrumbs, grated veg (any), an egg, and herbs/spices/flavourings to taste. All mooshed up by hand and then topped with any one of a tin of crushed tomatoes, a shittonne of cherry tomatoes or chopped regular ones. Bake covered for 1 hour at 180 deg C till you hear it bubbling in the pan, then take cover off pan and bake for another 30 mins to let the excess liquid evaporate. Tomatoey top should be just a tiny bit caramelised. Remove from pan and serve in slices with carb & salad or as per CEO’s suggestion. At it’s best cold the next day in a sanger. And the juice that remains in the pan is definitely the cook’s perks.

Best teenager kibble on record (yes I’m including spag bol in that reckoning). And a good way to insert veg into reluctant children (of any age). Some persons (whom I will not mention but the Two Fat Ladies are prominent among them) wrap the mooshed up chunk in bacon slices, bake on a shallow tray and omit the tomatoes. This is good but in a loaf pan is the go to imo.

I make a beautiful one, with a layer of scotch eggs through the middle, then its wrapped in bacon and cooked. Tip it out onto a flat baking tray and top with mashed potatoes and cheese and back in the oven… its awesome.

Yeah I’m moving this meat to the freezer as I won’t be able to cook it today. Right now the focus is getting things back up off the floor and doing laundry including the clothes that fell in case of any flea eggs.

My BigDubya stick vac works impressively for the size and quality but it’s too late to use it right now. I wish it was quieter. It’s such a hassle to vacuum with a thing that screams but the quieter stick vacs in my budget don’t pick up a thing.

I wish my sleep schedule would correct 🫩

I’m also late with meds because cat won’t come out of the hidey hole. I just had to reach in at a contorted angle to give an oral syringe one handed and by feel.
