There’s still a talent deficit on this team, but it’s not as bad as last year. Coaching has to be better. One way or the other
It would be absolutely the wrong move to fire Poles.
The Bears were up 2 scores. They lost because they couldn’t stop Detroit from scoring 2 touchdowns in 2 minutes. You can blame Eberflus for his defensive play calling, but this is ridiculous “hindsight is 20/20” bullshit.
I’ll continue to go against the grain about this game.
I’m seeing the Getsy play calling in the 4th getting a lot of crap, but I really think it was unwarranted. They dominated the time of possession. They were choking out the Lions. Why wouldn’t the Bears let their o-line and their offense do what they do best and just maul the Lions.
We can criticize the Bears for that 3 and out that ended in the Scott drop in hindsight, but every team in the NFL runs up the middle in that situation. And it would have been moot if Scott doesn’t slow up his route. The problem was execution, not play calling.
On the other side of the ball, however, we can totally tear into the 4th quarter defensive play calling. At the end of the day, the bears lost because they let the Lions get 2tds in, like, 2 minutes. They didn’t blitz Goff. And then some bad mistakes by players really just dropped the ball.
At the end of the day, The Bears were beating one of the best teams in the NFL, but good teams can overcome mistakes and bad teams can’t. The Bears couldn’t.
Maybe I’m just hopelessly optimistic, but I just watch the Bears dominate one of the best teams in football. Add in 2 high 1st rounders next season and a ton of cash to spend, I’m just not angry
TBF, that’s not even the worst Facebook take I’ve seen in the last hour
All the money at Chris Jones.
I hope Herbert is back this week. He’s kind of a homerun hitter that has been needed.
a bunch.
Punting on Fields in favor of possibly really good QB prospects is one thing. Punting on Fields just because he’s not an all-pro QB halfway through his 3rd season is another.
Let’s see how the season plays out
I’m pretty sure Montez is going to play 1 quarter and then retire to pursue his life-long passion of pogs. I’m already subscribed to the podcast, Slammin’ with Montez Sweat. Ryan Poles is going to be the first guest
What did he give the 9ers and Young?
Resign JJ or get a haul for him.
I mean, they tackle better in the first half and Velus catches that TD, it’s a different game.
I’m not sure what you all want him to say
head coach of a tanking team last season only has wins against back-up quarterbacks. News at 11
It was a bad time for the Chargers to remember they actually have talent on their team.
Individual and coaching performances aside, it was clear which team had the better talent.
And, tbh, I think the Bears D-line was actually trying pretty damn hard to get to Herbert. Aside from one play where I still don’t know what Justin Jones was thinking (had a clear shot at Herbet), I liked their effort. The Chargers O-line was just not having anything.
I’m personally ready for Fields to be back
Oh god. Am I older than the starting QB for the Bear’s dad?
I guess I’m starting to drink early for the game today.
I’m in.
