I wonder why the bears are better at recovering his fumbles than most of the other teams that have the ‘lost’ stat recorded

Does that stat include fumbles that went out of bounds? Some of Fields fumbles seemed to be just not protecting the ball near the sideline probably figuring if it comes out its just bouncing out of bounds anyways. Not that I’m saying he should be doing that, but its not as bad as open field fumbles. Just trying to figure out why they lose less than a third of the fumbles and most other teams are over 50%. Maybe all those other qb’s are losing fumbles on sacks and they’re harder to recover.

Fields seems checked out. Saying all the right things, no way he actually respects or wants to thank “Flus”. Already auditioning for his next team I guess.

What reason does Poles have to not fire him? Money? Are temporary interim HC’s that expensive? Were they both told they would be fired? Poles is still making major roster moves so I doubt that is it. To save face? Even if Eberflus does great the next 6 games it isn’t going to make himself or Poles look that much better. It will just shine a bigger light on what everyone knows (and the Lions linebacker said) that this team has the talent it is the coaching that is the problem.

Poles could send a positive message to the current players by putting the blame mostly where it belongs. I can’t think of a good reason why he doesn’t do it.

The timeout on 3rd down when Detroit was scrambling to get a play off was fucking stupid. Gave the offense time to do the exact play they wanted and 30 seconds isn’t long enough to get in field goal range anyways.

I remember during broadcasts they would often say he is the most underrated linebacker in the league. But yeah, I don’t remember them ever saying he was the best when he was here.

They’ve lost a lot, but fun fact: the average number of points by the winning team in the NFL is 26.6. Fields has led us to more than that on 6 occansions and lost the game.

I agree with your post except for using this stat. Half of games have been won with over 26.6 points, getting over that hurdle and losing 6 of them over a 33 game span doesn’t scream that its only a problem with the defense.

Did we really need another Fields post? Give it a rest.

It is likely that both sides want to go in different directions after this season and it will be mutual (for everyone except for some of people here)
