…but ya’ll gotta look at some of the other WRs in this class. There are some absolute dogs at the top of this class. Even if we cannot land MHJ, this is a great time to get one in the draft.

Nabers, Odunze, Coleman & Egbuka are all high end prospects.

There’s also some solid Day 2 prospects.

Who’s to say these guys will be available if we trade down? Personally I see a ton of similarities between the 2024 and 2021 prospects, and in that draft the WRs went 5th, 6th, 10th, 20th, and 27th (4th too if you want to count Pitts). Chase, Waddle, and DeVonta all were absolutely worth their high draft spot, and I could very easily see MHJ, Odunze, and Nabers all going top 10

The reason to get MHJ at #1 is simply to pair him with DJ Moore and have a top-3 WR room in the league on day 1. I have seen this work in the past in St. Louis with the 1999 Rams. That team added Timmerman (Pro-Bowl - OG), Faulk (HOF - RB) and Warner (HOF - QB, by accident not intent) and brought in a rookie WR named Torry Holt (Future HOF - WR) to pair with Isaac Bruce (HOF - WR) and Orlando Pace (HOF - LT).

Now, Fields is not Warner - but Warner would not have been “Warner” either without the weapons that were on that Rams O… Pairing Holt and Bruce was a league-leading tandem for 5 years (the entirety of the Greatest Show on Turf run) and while there would still be no one on the Bears anywhere NEAR the level of Faulk, there was so much downfield open receivers for the Rams because they could not be doubled and taken away.

Bruce and Holt absolutely feasted on the 17-yard backside dig routes and I could see similar things for a Bears offense with Fields at QB1, Roschon/Herbert at HB, and Moore / MHJ as WR1a/WR1b. It would not be exactly the same (in reality probably not close to that level of talent), but it could still be the most potent Bears’ offense in forever…

The thing is, if the bears don’t go MHJ, Id prefer they fill glaring holes in the roster. We don’t NEED a WR, but you take a guy like MHJ because he’s the best WR in years

I absolutely love Rome Odunze’s game. He’s going to be a stud in the NFL.

Nabers is great, but I wouldn’t be surprised if Brian Thomas is just as good. They’re like Jamarr Chase and Justin Jefferson. Chase got all the attention in their championship season with Jefferson being a very good second fiddle. I think he ends up being WR5 behind MHJ/Coleman/Nabers/Odunze.

I just want someone who can run 10 yards, turn around, block out a DB and make a catch. MHJ can do that. And can also do the homerun ball.

What do the anti-Fields/MHJ or bust people think? Because there likely isn’t a scenario where they draft MHJ and don’t plan on brining back Fields. If they make a pick at one or two, it’s a QB. MHJ is gone after that.

Don’t sleep on Troy Franklin! I’m not at all saying he’s the better pro prospect, but dude has better numbers than Harrison and has played a tougher schedule.
