Isn’t Tetris effectively public domain except for things that are made for consoles specifically?

They’ve been repeatedly using SpongeBob characters, the Pokemon theme, pretty much any song they like…

Can we just say copyright law doesn’t exist any more for a certain class of people?

Apparently, it’s the one entity that can make Nintendo furious without actually getting destroyed by them or even sued by them necessarily. And this is more offensive than pretty much anything Nintendo’s gone after before. Yet they repeatedly crossed that line.

One of the games, Build the Wall, borrows heavily from Tetris. Players stack falling blocks to defend the southern border during a “zombie border siege” and “protect the border from the coming horde.”

Allowing the blocks to reach the top of the screen triggers a “border breached” message.

Ahhh, this administration’s usual level of not thinking things through rears its idiotic head again. This basically says building the wall is counterproductive, and you win by keeping it down.

The people in charge are, to put it in terms trump would understand, completely retarded. What I don’t understand is where the checks and balances they swore kept the government running are. I haven’t seen a single check or balance that has any effect yet, where the fuck are they? Was it always a lie?

Republicans have a trifecta, and a 6-3 scotus majority.

And now is when we find out that the checks and balances were always more of an honor-system than your government teacher would have you believe.

        the checks and balances

Once the checks clear, their balances reflect it.

Oh, you meant different checks and different balances. Never mind.

Calling someone with down syndrome a retard is a slur. Calling someone who’s acting like a retard, aka just being stupid, slow, limited, whatever, who’s not medically handicapped in any way, not disabled. They can be a retard. It’s not nice to call disabled people names. People who are theoretically not disabled. Being extremely stupid, short-sighted, sometimes evil. I think that’s a fair word to use. It’s a slur, but it really depends who you’re slurring as to whether it is meaningfully a slur that we should avoid using.

Honestly, I’d completely phased this word out of my vocabulary, but describing MAGA admins are the one time I will use it. It’s the only thing that accurately describes them. Elon wanted to bring it back so badly, why not use it to tell him what friendless retard he actually is.

You’re not wrong. But for some reason any MAGA I talk to gets more riled up about being called that than a loser, a fascist, a Nazi, or anything else.

Maybe it’s petty of me, but I’m also pretty done with them calling me a sand n-word for having slightly tanned skin in the summer.

I generally agree. And I never use the word anymore, but I get where they’re coming from. Personally I wouldn’t say it cause it gives them permission to say it as well, and they’ll abuse it til it’s lexicon again. So personally I’d rather use loser, stupid or any of the other words that also describe them.

However I’m sure in person, arguing with a MAGAt would piss me off to the point of saying it. That’s why I just openly disregard these people off the cuff. Roll my eyes and move on. Like what they’re saying isn’t even worth reacting to because it’s so beneath me.

The other question I have is, who leverages that word against anyone who has a medical disability or something? Like, I’ve never heard anyone call someone with Down Syndrome or autism, etc. a retard. Unless they were doing something retarded and they didn’t know, but, I’ve never seen it leveled against a person with a disability. That doesn’t mean it doesn’t happen. Also though, I feel like language policing when we literally have fascists throwing people into concentration camps that maybe that’s not top priority.

Ehhh it did used to happen. And it didn’t have to be someone with debilitating issues as strong as down syndrome or autism. Back in the 90’s everyone from dyslexics to down syndrome, to people with social anxiety were called retarded. Even a simple idea got called retarded if it wasn’t the norm.

That being said, people who throw people in concentration camps shouldn’t be called retarded. They should be curb-stomped.

The score is how much the tax payer has put in to maintain something that will always end with Game Over. Well, unless the builder starts transcending end-game via loopholes, which is likely. At which point the score’s rolling K economy harder than ever.

Maaaaaaaaan…this sucks. At one point in the 90s I had played every version of tetris released.

I haven’t kept up, but my inner 8 year old is sad. My inner 8 year old wants to play all the tetris, but my outer 42 year old self is keeping my inner 8 year old away from anything trump related.

My inner 8 year old is sad, but I’ll understand when I grow up…wait, how does this work again?

The subject matter isn’t the parodied thing. It’s not making fun of Tetris. It’s using Tetris in a pretty unrelated way to its actual purposes.

As much as I like this move, I think Tetris cannot claim to own the concept of 4 block stacker games, a positive legal outcome could be disasterous for all Tetris fangames.
