    I knew this comments would be “never heard of salt on melon” or the other half that they have always salted their melon. Personally I can eat it either way as it a melon, they delicious.

      That sounds really good, but normal salted melon didn’t vibe with me. Dedicating the melon to a savoury salad like you suggest is more lawful good though

            Because salt helps draw out the water in the fruit which makes it juicier and taste sweeter. Just a little bit does a lot for it.

            Also sweet + salty is a great combo.

    This is kind of like salt and cayenne pepper on a mango. I thought it was crazy until I tried it. Salt on a watermelon is basically a electrolyte drink.

        The mango thing is a street food, forgot where like salted watermelon, its for high heat places. Sodium, potassium, Magnesium, water, sugar. Natures Pocari Sweat/Gatorade.
