I can see the talent on this team coming together in another year, but this team needs a bona fide, quality head coach and coordinators on both sides of the ball.
As dumb as it sounds, I see what Eberlose means by saying they are close. They are close because the talent is there, but coaching and putting players in positions to NOT succeed when the situation arises has been the main reason they are not getting over that proverbial hump.
I seriously think one more solid offseason of FA signings and draft picks accompanied with ACTUAL FUCKING COACHES can lead the Bears to being a good NFL team or, at the least, watchable again.
They really were close to beating the Lions who are genuinely a very good team this year. It would just really be nice for a coach to own up and say that close doesn’t count and it’s up to him to get the team over the finish line.
