I have noticed a huge difference in battery life when switching between 4G and 5G. My iPhone on 5G gives me approx 7-8 hours battery life with approx 5 hours of screen on time. Switching to 4g, I get 9-12 hours battery life with 7-8 hours screen on time. ps: Instagram, Youtube, Pinterest, Reddit are my primary data consumers.

No. The modem is not part of SoC. iPhone 13 uses the Qualcomm X60 modem, 14 the X65 and 15 the X70. There’s only 1 modem, used for all connections 4G or 5G or whatever, but mmWave has a separate chip. 5G might reduce battery life because … well it requires more battery.
mmWave meaning 5G connection? Does the Japanese variant have this mmWave chip?
