He is for sure a draftable QB. I watched the game last night, and he did nothing to warrant the “generational” label that’s being given to him.

If we take him, fine. But if we’re able to and go a different route? I’m okay with that too.

I never got into college ball because I went to a freakin art school for college. So this season I decided to start watching the SC games to see what the deal was this generational talent.

I have watched parts of least 4 of their last games and I don’t get it. I don’t see anything talent wise that makes him better than Fields and his attitude seems really fragile. I think he is going to bust out hard.

I’m hoping we land picks 1 and 3 so we can snag both but that seems unlikely with the remaining schedule.

Feels like going from a flawed but likable quarterback to a flawed and extremely unlikable quarterback.

We’re more than a QB away from competing. Marvin Harrison Jr isn’t just the best prospect perhaps over the last decade but he’s most likely the safest pick in the draft

Then our team is just good enough to be out of the range for a #1 QB. So then we either give up a fuck ton of draft capital to get a QB in the draft or sign a veteran to a huge deal. It doesn’t make sense.

This sub is so fucking dumb. In the entire history of the NFL, there have been just 4 first ballot HOF WRs. The Lions drafted one of them in 2007. In 2008, he had 1,300 + yards and led the league in TDs, and the Lions became the first team to go 0-16. Show me a first ballot HOF QB that led the league in TDs and finished with a league worst record. I don’t care if MHJ is a generational talent at WR, his position doesn’t warrant using the first overall pick to get him. I’m not sold on Williams (or Maye, or Fields), but any GM dumb enough to take MHJ with the first pick needs to be fired immediately. Keep Fields And trade down, draft Williams, draft Maye, I don’t really care. The one thing I do know is that the dumbest move this team can make is taking MHJ first overall.

I love this bs argument. No the Bears aren’t. They need a lot of help, but they one QB away from competing.

Everyone wants McCaskeys to sell the team, well you gotta buyer in Caleb. Imagine the leverage a really good QB would have against these owners and Poles, they would never allow it. His drama is not on brand with the current Bears Org.

Caleb is just a larger version of Fields, you’d be dumping Fields for version 2.0. Watching the game last night should have made that even more clear. Grab Harrison, trade the other top five and get a lower first rounder and a higher second rounder. Pick two lineman one offensive, one defensive.

Anyone who thinks fields and Williams are similar QB prospects can safely be ignored on all things QB

      They aren’t similar at all

I want mhj… but in tandem with a qb.

Having mhj doesnt mean fields suddenly can read a defense or throw the ball on time.

Maybe we can get an AP first team roster at every posession around fields and then we can judge him accurately huh?

And they were right. Draft prospects aren’t guarantees, but there is extremely strong correlation between draft position and future success, especially at QB. If you’re in position to take a top QB prospect, you do it, without a second thought. Will it always work out? Of course not. But you can’t win without a QB and have to take your shot at some point, and if you have to trade up to take that shot, it’s going to cost you multiple firsts if you can even get so lucky as to have a top team willing to trade with you.
