What’s up with these boring ass takes?

Truth be told, none of the meatheads here know anything about his progressions, where his eyes are supposed to go and what the play design is. They’re just parroting what other people say on ESPN, Twitter, etc.

Remember when Mac Jones was supposed to be some super computer processor who always made the right read? He’s fucking terrible and makes some of the worst throws you’ll see. But his ability to go through reads/programs is never under attack because that wasn’t the narrative.

The problem with him right now is he’s dealing with a lot of things at once. There’s the initial play, then he has to identify potential blitzes and coverages. Then he has to go through his reads. But how quick is too quick? Should he stare down route one to lure the coverage away from route two? But what if that guy who he thought was blitzing drops back to where route two is going? Shit, maybe I should just take off? Fuck, here’s a defender in my face.

There are a shitload of variables going on in a QB’s mind when he’s back there. What makes the great ones great is confidence to make that throw AND in their protection. I think Fields is all over the place right now, hence the jittery movement we see back there and apparent indecisiveness.

What he needs is easy half field reads to settle him down, ease him into the game and go from there.

-Poles knows talent. I commend him on recognizing players in the draft and being willing to pull the trigger. Dexter looks like he’s going to be really, really good. Pickens is going to be a solid rotational player for a long time. Terrell Smith has been outstanding. Wright is a stud. Roschon is a bruising back who’s getting closer to breaking one. Overall I’m impressed.

-Fields has it rough back there, he really does. He had two bad misses, the high ball to Mooney and the out route to Moore, but QB’s miss throws every game… even Elite ones. Overall he played very well, just HOLD ONTO THE FUCKING BALL!

-Getsy has to go. I understand why the screen game was implemented, but c’mon man.

All that dominance and all it took was two throws… two. And now it’s a tie game. This is why you can’t play not to lose. This is why the clock is almost irrelevant. You need points in this league and to do that you need to push the ball.

And what’s weird is that Justin loves to push the ball and we’re built for it.

Tell you what… it’s nice to not have to worry about having a heart attack during punts. We have a guy that catches them, that’s enough for me.

Omg the guy has been sensational all game. He misses one throw after two dumbass penalties and ya’ll are haters again. I hate these fans, man.

Let me just say, I hate this coaching staff and never defend them. But a screen on 3rd and 20 is fine. No team has a play for 3rd and 20… maybe the Chiefs. All you’re trying to do is give someone a chance to make a play and not lose yardage.

I don’t understand this teams obsession with using Kmet like he’s some swiss army knife. He’s not. He’s a big, stiff tight end with good hands who runs with power. Why are the Bears always trying to force the ball to him?

Coaches are usually blamed for the ineptness of the team, typically unfairly. But there are a few things that you can directly attribute to coaching; Preparedness, discipline, energy and attitude are all directly linked to coaching. And more often than not this team comes out flat, commits penalties, looks completely unprepared and appears to be waiting for the game to win.

This is why I believe Eberflus needs to go. I thought the team played hard last year, and despite their record they were far from the worst team in the league. But this year has been pretty embarrassing and it started with Week 1 against a below average Packers team.

I really like Eric Bienemy as a coach. Really cool concepts without getting too cute, the receivers are all excellent at the scramble drill and he sets plays up.

Ah, yes… the classic “shit I fumbled let me pretend to be hurt” move.

The narrative is that Fields is a dummy and can’t read defenses. But so far, the great Jared Goff who is known as a classic passer looks like he can’t read a defense. And he’s holding the ball forever.

I’m confused.

Myles is an absolute force. He’s one of three or four defensive ends that literally needs to be accounted for or schemed around every single play. Truly a gamewrecker.
