      I use the cheapest dishwasher soap I can find and ever since I followed Alec’s recommendation to run the hot water tap until it flows hot before turning on the dishwasher I’ve had perfectly clean dishes every single time.

    To be fair that might also be due to the fact that the machines are designed for powder.

      And powder lets you customize the amount depending on the dirtyness of the current load being washed. You can also throw some in on the prewash cycle if desired

    I haven’t mathed it out, so correct me if I’m wrong, but this looks much more expensive than the Great Value and Compliments powder. Does anyone know how they compare?

    Nellie’s is also Canadian-made. And they sell absolutely massive buckets of the stuff, if you’re so inclined, that will literally last you years.

    All I’m interested in is price per load compared to bulk powder from Costco which does a great job.

    I like diy’ng my dish detergent but I currently have some pods of some sort, but the powder works so much better.
