Not currently in the mood for soulslikes tbh - stuck playing League again D:
Internet Pitstop (https://www.youtube.com/@InternetPitstop) would be my pick here. He’s made a number of video essays on a wide variety of topics related to soulslikes, which I’ve enjoyed a lot. He’s giving NakeyJakey in a way, but he’s made a name for himself and sets himself apart with his cool attitude and interesting aesthetics/set pieces for me. Huge recommendation definitely.
What I mean by “unknown” is a content creator that’s not widely known in the soulslike community, like Zullie, Vaati, or Iron Pineapple - someone that doesn’t get millions of views per video.
Who’s your pick?
Gave DS2 another go and finally beat it, and now I really think it’s the best of all three. Smelter Hammer FTW!
I am going back to ER, doing a blue dancer hand axe run for fun, this weapon is so busted lmao.
I’m not sure if he’s widely known, but Gigasthiccas has some sweet combo route videos, highly recommend. https://youtube.com/@gigasthiccas
I’ll check out Internet Pitstop, thanks!
Two I like are Hawkshaw https://www.youtube.com/@Hawkshaw/videos
and the other is
illusory wall https://www.youtube.com/@illusorywall/videos
Late addition- I forgot to mention Leviathan who has tips on gameplay mechanics. He taught me to jump and duck more and roll less. It’s not easy to break the roll habit but it can really help in some situations. https://www.youtube.com/@Leviathannohit/videos
Here’s an example of the kind of tips and tricks he shares. How a simple tutorial mislead 99% of players
I’m considering an Elden Ring replay. It’s been a couple years. Last time was a Samurai build - the starting weapon was so good, I just upgraded it right through to the very end. Any recommendations on alternate builds for a new challenge? I also haven’t even touched the DLC yet.
I find a caster build always fun for a second playthrough.
Elden Ring has a fantastic selection of spells. If you want to play as a sorcerer, you could start as an Astrologer or a Prisoner and see where it takes you.If you want more concrete or different advise about builds in Elden Ring just ask — I have an unhealthy amount of knowledge of Elden Ring and am always happy to help.
Thanks I appreciate that. I’m certainly going to go with Astrologer as a starting point. I practically ignored all magic last time, so a caster would be a nice change of pace.
Have fun on your playthrough :)
Sorceries are very enjoyable to use in Elden Ring.
Also, you get to experience the DLC for the first time, and I’m sure you’re gonna enjoy this; it’s some of FromSoft’s best content.
Oof, I’m not familiar with any small channels but I enjoy a lot people that do fan animation and parodies. The amount of dedication and love that goes into those videos, damn!
These are not small channels, If y’all are like me, (adults with videogame brain rot) you probably know them as well, But in case someone does not I’ll share some.
Matthew Shezmen ( animated parodies of elden ring/ dark souls /sekiro and others) some even feature lenght. Has a SoTE one coming soon.

This hilarious parody song/ animated music video another user shared with me the other day
(Starbomb- kiss the elden ring)
I’ll check internet pitstop out, thanks!
I think you just listed all the best parody material, to be honest. “Happy Souls” is fun too:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2kr7KDCsIws
Edit: Okay, Happy Ring is worth a chuckle or two:
I hadn’t seen those, (haven’t played DS2 either) but both were pretty charming! :)
I already knew of and loved “Happy Souls”
But I hadn’t seen “Happy Ring” yet, definitely worth a chuckle. Not quite as good as Happy Souls, but I was thoroughly entertained. (The short Caelid segment as Doom was particularly fun-)
unknown content creator
The Tomb Prospectors who mapped every Chalice Dungeon, and Trin who created Chalice Dungeon editing, and created and maintains many of the edited dungeons. I think they created the cumm dungeon as one extremely famous but rarely credited example
Oh and I’ll be playing Sekiro, now that I’m bored of Nightreign after 400 hours, 250 on Executor
Only ever heard of them by name. Checked out their subreddit back in the day here and there. Definitely a lot of work they did for the community
I’m currently curb stomping the higher NG cycles. Currently on Journey 3. I want to have my first character experience everything. In Journey 2, I did everything I never did in the first playthrough (seeing Melina’s sacrifice, freeing Blaidd, getting the dusk ending etc.). Now, I’m doing a vile playthrough, as I’m calling it. I did some evil actions before in other playthroughs (e.g. Chaos ending). In this one, I’m doing actions so vile thar I’m never doing them again. For example, doing all of Seluvis questline: roofieing Nepheli to turn her into a puppet, which felt truly awful; trying to give the potion to Ranni was really vile; at least if you annoy her afterwards she very deservedly kills you instantly. I also killed two Forager Broods in the DLC and had Moore invade. Killing peaceful creatures, then getting rightfully callled out and then killing Moore felt truly awful (even more so than telling him to be sad forever). I’m also doing the entire Dung-Eater quest and getting his ending (which will probably be the only time I’m ever doing that, so vile.)
Youtube Channels:
- splee5556: He has an truly intricate knowledge of Souls and espcellially Dark Souls Glitches. A fun Video of his is beating DS1 Poopwalk only (Poopwalk is a useless Glitch which halves all animations).
- Thingfishy: He does nicely edited, chill playthrough/“build guides” about mostly Elden Ring and DS3. Very nice to watch and entertaining Videos.
- OceaTwo: A helpless Elden Ring addict. He mostly does Elden Ring playthroughs with a theme (only leveling one stat, using only one weapon type etc.). Seeing him play is fascinating, since it looks like he is almost sleep walking through the game. His two videos 1,2 where he tries to hitless Elden Ring are aprticulaly entertaining.
Other more well known Youtubers:
- illusory wall: He does deep dives about Souls and especially Dark Souls games focusing on mechanics, world layout etc. His Dark Souls Dissected series is especially worth a watch.
- GinoMachino: Probably the best No Hit runner of Elden Ring. The appeal of watching is streams or edited streams is seeing someone be very good at something. His massive all 207 Bosses not hit video is truly fascinating to watch.
