Some of this country is very white. Do you think the cops police them differently? That they treat poor white people with respect?
No, and they never have. They prey on the poor and most vulnerable. If there’s a wealthy non-white community, they will always “get a pass”.
A perfect example of this in action is the homeless. How do the cops treat the homeless? Are they kind and merciful to the white ones?
Are they racist? Many of them are, of course (and sexist, etc).
But they ALL prey on the impoverished by design.
Respect? No. But they certainly treat poor black people a hell of a lot worse than poor white people.
Oh, so you’re not poor.
Nah, they slash up their slum town tent and beat them just like everybody else in the camp
Guy on the left failed the class.
He completely missed the baby.deleted by creator

He will be sent to Gaza to kill children execution style for training
He should’ve hit the baby. Their bones are soft. Bullets would go right through. 2 for 1.

The picture is missing a bullet hole where the baby is.
It’s being sent to Mara lago to be raped and then it will be thrown into Lake Michigan
And random holes all over the wall, floor, ceiling…
what are you talking about “this country”, this is lemmy.ca
ICE is an American institution, so the pronouns are used appropriately.
Otherwise, they’d have to replace the pronoun “their” with “Immigration and Customs Enforcement”, or ICE again in the same sentence, and so on.
Pronouns are used as a substitute for the subject so that you don’t have to use the same exact term repeatedly in conversation.
The pronouns following the subject all pertain to the subject until the subject is changed.
This is ENGLISH!
should be “that country,” no?
People make mistakes with pronouns constantly, as pronouns are not “exact” and are themselves placeholders, an approximation for the subject to avoid nearly constant repetition.
Once you start correcting the pronouns of others, you make conversations about anything else virtually impossible. It’s the destroyer of many threads, done purposefully or not.
As they say in linguistics, just go with it; only then will you get to THE SUBJECT itself
ah I see the agents of fight among yourselves and let the facist olgiarchs get away with it are still strong and active.
Lol, what makes you think they wouldn’t shoot the baby?
I’m surprised they aren’t spraying bullets randomly all over the room.
No flash bangs nearby

(Yeah I’ll see myself out)
No shade against the artist but I feel that this caricature would’ve best met their desired messaging had they chose to depict people of color next to white people also being targeted.
Cause at the end of the day, all Americans are suffering at the hands of Trump and the republican cronies.
I think the point is they’re actually killing white people. That’s how far down the hole we are.
Are they going to give the surviving baby to the orangest Paedo Of The United States?
Everyone -decent- knows he likes them young…
4/10, they missed the child.
[…] white people are experiencing the policing non-whites suffer from in this country
What ICE is doing has nothing to do with policing.
The origin of policing in the US is runaway slave catching. It’d say its pretty damn in line with policing, historically speaking.
Modern policing maintains at least the veneer of enforcing the law (unless you’re powerful and/or rich).
What American police in general tend to do has nothing to do with policing. It’s just that up until now white folk, outside of the absolute poorest classes, tended not to be on the receiving end of it.

I think the issue is that they were executed in a situation where they posed no danger to the officer. This would be frightening for any legal citizen. Please stop picking apart peoples reasons for being against this, we need unity now more than ever and all this logic does is force a useless purity test that gets us no where.
Please stop picking apart peoples reasons for being against this, we need unity now more than ever
Thank you.
It’s depressing that this is so far down the thread, and has so few up votes.
If Americans don’t pull together and work in a coordinated way they’ll never defeat the faccist takeover of their country.
Many POC are executed in situations where they pose no danger. Please don’t downplay the systemic racism present in the policing industry, we need to stand against this behaviour now more than ever.
And at this point anyone using the term “purity test” should be ignored. It’s a term purely used to downplay systemic abuses of marginalised groups.
That’s kind of derailing. Nobody is downplaying that (except the racists who are are perpetuating the problem, but they’re okay with this too). Most people here have probably also been speaking out against all the violence against POC.
If someone commented on a post about a POC being murdered by cops/ICE, and said “but what about the white people they killed,” you would call that derailing. And that’s exactly what you’re doing here.
You’re downplaying the tragedy that is the implicit topic of this current post, which is the woman who was recently murdered by ICE in Minneapolis. You apparently don’t care about this event, because the victim was white, and you’re arguing that we should ignore it simply because she wasn’t a POC.
we need to stand against this behavior now more than ever.
Yes, exactly, so why are you taking issue with people doing just that?
There needs to be a word beyond shortsighted that defines individuals who let perfect be the enemy of good.
The above commenter was simply trying to say that anyone who uses the term “purity test” has failed their purity test…
I understood your joke, I’m sorry you got downvoted
It’s alright, it happens. At least you picked up on it…
Yes they are and I yelled about that too and you have no way of knowing who here did and didn’t. Yes the system is corrupt but the people you speak with here aren’t the system, we are individuals.
The bastards on the right: “Aim lower, Ross!”
Kill a bunch of colored people, no one bats an eye. Shoot one white person and everyone loses their minds.
The murderer of Daniel Shaver got away, sadly.
Why is that a good thing? Isn’t it better for fewer people to experience that kind of policing? Or is the idea that now that more people are at risk, it increases the odds the people will rise up and change the system
