Last year in Mississippi, there were zero abortions for any reason, according to a recent report from The Society of Family Planning’s WeCount project.
Congratulations to Mississippi for solving the rape problem by pretending it doesn’t exist.
Root of the story, do everything you can to NOT call Mississippi home.
That was also true while Roe was still in effect.
Their housing market reflects the efforts to avoid the place too.
I’m no expert but, I’m guessing that somebody that was raped and pregnant is going to have some bad trauma. And probably not wanting to let everyone know what happened and then willing to fight for an abortion. Some never tell what happened.
The issue is also they you’d have to somehow prove it happened before within just a few months. So, someone gets raped, they figure out they’re pregnant like a month later, somehow they have to find the guy, secure a conviction, etc before whatever the cut-off is in that state. There’s no way that can happen in practice.
It’s not like a permit required from a judge thing, in many cases they just give you a pill when you arrive at the hospital after reporting being raped.
Maybe you should read the article, which is about states where that isn’t the case.
