With the latest lemmy, federation can be comm specific so smaller comms could be federated while shitholes like 196 and this one can be banned. And letting blahaj people have access to traaaaa over here can help people with brainworms.
Support for refederation is conditional on hexbear mods willingness to step in where blahaj mods won’t, so it would be more work and something to not consider if it would be too much of a mod burden.

I know there are some in the community who haven’t given up on wanting to try to fed with them, but as far as I’m concerned it’s a fruitless effort. Ada has made it clear that she isn’t willing to do anything to make her instance safer (like banning chasers) to protect our users from potential harassment, while at the same expecting that we make changes to accommodate her. She’s also constantly been lying to her community about why we defederated them. Trying to work things out with someone like that is a waste of time.

If you’re going to do electoralism you have to understand that your vote is the main bargaining chip.
