The complete hopelessness of Alien3 is fantastic. The worst of humanity. A run down facility with nothing that works. No help from the outside until -spoiler-.
Alien3 looks like an industrial music video. And I quite like the score.
I never really understood all the hate for it. So what, they refreshed the cast aside from Ripley. The way they did it also was also completely believable to me. >!I wouldn’t have expected a 10y/o girl to have aged 6 years in cryo sleep either. With human curiosity and corporate greed, wanting to preserve the xenomorphs by any means necessary was also an obvious eventuality to me!<
I liked Alien3. It’s my third favorite, but it has all the charm and environment that the first two do.

(I love this movie)
That’s because it was the first feature film David Fincher directed. Before that he had only ever directed (very good) music videos.
The film had so much studio executive intervention that Fincher has all but disavowed it.
…and because they did not use the original script they hired William Gibson to write.
I enjoyed that script. My favorite part is where they go into the garden and all the plants have turned into xenomorph plants.
Fincher continues to nail that nihilistic feel in all of his films. Even his animated LD+R short “Bad Traveling” is dripping with his style.
I’m a big fan Prometheus, myself.
So I’m not alone. Not my fav by any achance, but I like it.
I like William Gibson’s Alien 3 more. Especially the second draft.

Killing off the main characters off screen I’m the first minute of the movie probably wasn’t the best decision.
