Police arrested four people and took down 100 servers across Europe and North America in a major sweep against malware, Europol said.

The European Union’s law enforcement agency also said over 2,000 domains were now under the control of law enforcement.

Operation Endgame, which was carried out between May 27 and 29, was “the largest ever operation against botnets, which play a major role in the deployment of ransomware,” Europol said.

    Operation Endgame

Yes, this is the last we’ll see of malware. It’s dealt with now. No more malware ever!

This is the best summary I could come up with:

Police arrested four people and took down 100 servers across Europe and North America in what Europol said was the biggest sweep against malware ever conducted.

Police arrested four people and took down 100 servers across Europe and North America in a major sweep against malware, Europol said.

One of the main suspects in the operation earned at least €69 million in cryptocurrency by renting out sites that would deploy ransomware.

Finding the suspects took a coordinated effort from around the world, Europol said, with the operation initiated and led by France, Germany and the Netherlands.

“Law enforcement authorities have managed to deal a significant blow to the cybercrime scene,” Martina Link, vice president of Germany’s Federal Criminal Police Office, said in a statement.

“Suspects involved in these and other botnets who have not yet been arrested, will be directly called to account for their actions,” the law enforcement agency said.

The original article contains 404 words, the summary contains 151 words. Saved 63%. I’m a bot and I’m open source!

Three Ukrainian nationals and one Armenian were arrested, with ten more international arrest warrants also issued.

I’m guessing those “three Ukrainian nationals” have a lot more loyalty to Russia than their homeland. And I’m guessing I know where at least some of those other ten are located.

Criminals come in all shapes and colours. There’s nothing hintingat a covert Russian OP.

I think when three Ukrainians and one Armenian were involved, it sure points towards Russia.

I don’t claim to be a master sleuth. However, I also am not so lazy that I can’t type out a three-letter word when I post.

i feel this as well, we may see proof that this is indeed right in the next days or weeks. Thanks for all the nice posts and comments, looks as if you were jet propelled !

Some members of Ommastrephidae are known for their jet-propelled flight, earning them the common name of “flying squid” 😋 https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ommastrephidae

Yes, that is indeed how we propel ourselves out of the water. Then we glide on our fins!
