If it’s only a few K (rainy day) you could split them up with someone like NetSpend…

There’s a bit of setup to avoid inactivity fees, but they currently have 5% on 1K and 6% for 2K. There’s also HEB that offers 6% on 2K.

If you got about 5K, it’s definitely worth the setup process

A lot of people have tech illiterate parents and other relatives, so regular cellular phone calls still take place.

Features have never been a big thing for me.

For me, it’s about if it fits my lifestyle and making each phone last as long as possible (iOS updates, app support, etc)

The iPhone SE 2016 held up for 4 years with a battery replacement. Held up another 2 years after that.

I got the 13 Mini because I had saved up enough to buy it and I’ve been waiting awhile for a compact modern phone. This phone will last me 6 years easily.
