    1. I used Samsung smartphones for 9 years, but in 2020 I got an iPhone and migrated into the Apple ecosystem (iPad, MacBook). Apple devices haven’t so far left me in trouble, they “just work”. The reliability keeps me in the ecosystem. Everything works and I feel safe. I have Galaxy A53 as my second phone and it has already left me in trouble for a few times: a few apps didn’t work like they should, while on the iPhone I never got a problem.

    2. I’m not a fan of Windows or Ubuntu anymore, and using a MacBook feels very anti-stressing and reliable. I like that. Makes me feel safe.

    3. It’s important to me to get the latest security updates as fast as possible on all my devices.

    4. I love how it feels like to hold an iPhone in your hand. They really do pay attention to little details.

    5. Privacy/security. Advanced Data Protection. I’m not a fan of Google anymore, and I don’t want to use Google Photos. So far iCloud has met my needs with Advanced Data Protection on. If Android had that, I’d be interested, given how I used to love Samsung phones.

BUT: At least in North Europe where I live, 90% of people I know use an Android. Having an iPhone can be seen here as “snobby”, in my personal circles. Also, I’m not a fan of the Apple prices 😅

  • Well I get it, the battery life can feel frustrating. I sure hope it’s true, that Apple’s chips are so power-efficient, that the small battery size is justified. But this is usually something you’ll only come to notice when you use the phone for a long time.

Out of the box, almost every new phone can feel great when it comes to battery life, but what’s the situation after a year, or two years of use?

I get how you feel about Apple’s pricing, I feel the same. To me SE feels like a midrange, and the SE3 pricing (when it first came out) felt really close to the flagship pricing, at least where I live, compared to the pricing of SE2 when it came out. (TBH anything 600$+ feels like a flagship to me haha xD)

I never realized that the basic iPhones (like 15) were the “midrange” ones. They have a flagship price in my eyes.

About the battery thing. I solved this by getting a cheap or midrange Samsung phone with a 5000mh (or something) battery, and I use it as my second phone. The battery of my iPhone SE2 just wasn’t reliable enough, no matter the power-efficient Apple chip in it. So far the Samsung battery feels great after a half a year, but I’ll be curious to see how it fares after a year or two.

  • So I tried and made some research, and I wasn’t able to create a Shortcut for Spotify. However I was able to create the same kind of Shortcut for Apple Music like you did. Some source on the internet suggested that there used to be a Shortcut option for Spotify at some point (like in iOS 13 or something?) but that it doesn’t exists anymore. Couldn’t find info whether or not it will come back anytime soon. If someone has more up-to-date information, please let us know.

Anyway, I decided I’ll be switching to Apple Music from Spotify, since I’m already in the Apple ecosystem and one of my family members is already using Apple Music.

Thank you for letting me know about the Shortcut, it’s been enlightening to me. I’ve been looking into other Shortcuts now as well, and they too will make my life easier. :)
