I thought there was a leaderboard for that posted a while back. I sure hope you’re not tallying all your votes lol. Either way, thank you for your service.
uncritical support for the DPRK in its heroic struggle to liberate occupied Korea from the genocidal American empire
@SorosFootSoldier@hexbear.net didn’t you like, lead by an entire order of magnitude in terms of upvotes given for a long time? Gonna be hard to beat.
Even more delusional the . There are really intensive bits of computer science dedicated to manipulative mathematical symbols and solving advanced maths. They don’t fall under the umbrella of machine learning and no amount of GPU cores will changes that.
I hope for everyone’s sake that he knows he’s lying. There will indeed be further optimizations in AI computation energy efficiency. There will eventually be ASICs for training models which run a non-standard form of floating point representation which is optimized for LLM training. Those will be more energy efficient. But the idea that LLMs or any near-future iteration on them will be the catalyst for those optimizations is nonsense.
I fucken love Waffle House I’m voting for trump now
I’m glad there’s so many based parents and teachers on this site. Represent
Leaning heavily on Hunter is crazy for the POTUS. This is some Game Of Thrones level of “only trust family”.
I think there’s some nuance where the executive bureaucracy has a lot of discretion over federal spending depending on how that funding is allocated. I’m not sure of the specifics, but once a federal agency has funding, it often has the ability to pull certain funding from the states. I think a big part of Project 2025 (which is basically a more Trump-oriented version of what The Heritage Foundation has been pushing for decades) is the idea that federal employees can be reclassified from merit-based jobs to politically appointed positions, allowing for specialized positions which were previously protected from administration to administration within various agencies to become direct presidential appointees. And Project 2025 has thousands of people lined up for Trump to appoint along party lines.
All this said, I still think that many states will have protections for existing trans rights. Like New York specifically has protections beyond the relevant federal laws.
If anyone can figure out how to use non-corporate social media to funnel liberal “activism” into building dual power, that’d be cool. Don’t think we’re any closer than the last time this site had this conversation 4 years ago, though.
Edit: I don’t want to be delusional and say that Lemmy is some inherently revolutionary force. But I also think that saying we’re not any closer may have been a bit too doomer. We have software developed by well-read communists and several instances which are run strictly on revolutionary principles. We’ve had several lighting in a bottle moments following Reddit bans and pseudo purges that have netted us increased membership.
Again, Lemmy is not the home of vanguard or anything like that. But we’ve had a lot of weird existing-in-the-cracks circumstances that lead to our existence and weirder things have become important in times of unrest. Who knows what connections made here will have an impact? I think it’s important to have this leftist dive bar at the end of the internet.
Oh shit is still around? Love it
I don’t think Trump would be able to successfully do this at the federal level
I’m curious why. Like what specific power structure would stop him? Not saying you’re wrong. Just not sure what that would entail.
They don’t want parents to be able to consent either. They’re fundamentally opposed to it happening at all. Rich fuckers cosplaying as doctors.
Transphobes are half the reason we got rid of downvotes over here. They’re simultaneously blowhards and too cowardly to speak.
This is the way. Anyone revisiting threads multiple times should be upbearing generously for their own sanity.
sabotage Hillary’s election
It feels good for the prime directive to be activated again
White lib here. Can confirm.
I sat my kid down to watch the presidential debate. When he felt the alienation inherent to to political system, easily palpable even at his age, he despaired. So I informed him that the time we just spent together was meaningless and I made him watch this thing for no particular reason. This is a very emotional story.
I would say the hardest parts for me have been the-“am I just a man wearing a dress” thoughts
Okay so how DO you deal with those thoughts? Because I get these all the time.
This seems like it has larger ramifications
