David Terrell and Kevin White were mediocre
You and I disagree on what Mediocre means. Those guys were awful.

This is where I am at as well. The first two are painfully obvious.
I’ve been a fields supporter and think that he could have been it with good coaching. Imagine how differently he would have been under Andy Reid for example. But it’s been so long that he’s just learned too many bad habits, so whether he was never going to be it or not, he just might be beyond saving and so it’s time to move on.
Remember when everyone hated Gordon?
Maybe all these shots of Poles are him studying to take over as OC next week. It’s not like he can do worse.
2 minute drill, here comes a Viking Touchdown.
A screen? What do you think we practice against every play during the week Vikings
OMG he held the ball so long!

There are 151 days till the draft. I speculate there will be 478 standalone posts asking what people think we should do in the draft.
Anyone want to get a pool going?
Not only that aspect, but a team that runs it in from the 1 is going to, on average, have a qb with a worse ratio than one who’s scheme has them throwing it at the 1. Lotta quick, easy TDs can be racked up by qbs and inflate their stats when in both cases the team scored a TD.
We’d be better off with the magic 8-ball.
I don’t buy into this “a new regime MUST pick a NEW qb” mantra.
Does it happen that way a lot? Sure. You usually can everyone when your team sucks and when your team sucks you usually have bad QB. So it makes sense that all of those people are replacing their QBs. But if Andy Reid retires due to health problems or something, they aren’t bringing in a new QB. That, my friend, would be a mistake.
Similarly, hiring a GM/HC who has such an ego they will throw a fit if they can’t bring in a new QB just for the sake of being able to say they found the next great QB, would be a mistake.
So these are separate options to me.
Getsy - gotta go
Eberflus - gotta go
Fields - most likely goes, but he can earn a place by playing well enough down the stretch.
So to answer your question, I COULD be ok with it. But only based on Fields being a consistently great QB.
No, mainly because the only thing worse than Gesty/Flus is the prices at Jewel.
Don’t draft any of the top QBs, they all have potential flaws and are not guaranteed to be great!
Also, draft the QB from my school. He threw a few good passes so who knows?
Agreed, the main ??? is going to be the coaching. Can we finally hire an OC (or HC or QBC) who can mold someone?
Everyone keeps looking at this like HOF candidate or bust. And hey who wouldn’t want a QB that great right? But the bears struggles at the position go a lot deeper than that. We aren’t just not generating the next Tom Brady. We can’t even manage to create an Andy Dalton, an Alex Smith, or a Joe Flacco.
When you blanket your assignments all game, your name never gets mentioned. They only mention the players who the QB dares throw near.
I don’t know how, but that was Venus Jones’s fault
If you’re on the verge of firing the coach, tripping into that win isn’t changing your mind.
