I mean it sure would do more than pretending it’s not happening - but I get it - most Germans preferred to pretend they couldn’t smell the smoke either.

I’m a minority. Comparing someone to Nazi citizens ignoring the Jewish population getting murdered is a tone deaf thing to say.
_
And again you don’t even have to risk your own safety by protesting - you could at least join a local community organizing group to help people most affected.
_
I’ve donated and I have severe pain that makes me unable to be outside for more than a few hours. I don’t know what more I could reasonably do without injury.
_
I’m sure you may think one person can’t make a difference but I can guarantee that even a single person more that’s helping out with mutual aid would be met with appreciation anywhere. Still good on you for financing charities - that is usually the very first step.

Thank you.

Also this isn’t a sprint - it’s a marathon - expecting protests now to have any immediate impact is just setting you up for failure - these fights have been fought for generations - so lock in and get ready to resist not just these 4 but the next 40 years.

I don’t expect protests to have results because peaceful protesting isn’t taken seriously. The problem with protesting is how the government weaponized it against people and how blatantly evil they are. There’s videos in the BLM riots of cops shooting up the court house of people watching the riots and the law said they were perfectly fine to do so.
I don’t really think protesting works because modern America doesn’t need to hide how corrupt it is anymore. There’s corruption so bad the LAPD police department keeps trying to edit it out of Wikipedia. I had a similar conversation with someone xenophobic on Reddit who kept chastising “All Americans because they’re responsible” when I did everything correct. Told my friends to vote for her. Organized meetups which was very insanely hard to do in Florida because of my back issues, and people still didn’t give a shit.
I don’t really know what else I’m expected to do when most of it doesn’t work.

And sorry if this feels overwhelming and you don’t think you have the capacity - but even doing 1 day of volunteering a month is a good starting point.

I think this is true to an extent. I think everyone should talk about injustices but it’s significantly harder in the modern world where most people make a game out of how many trans people they can make miserable or how many minorities they can offend. It’s incredibly demoralizing and I left reddit primarily because I kept getting blamed for “inaction” at the election when I did everything right, but that still wasn’t good enough. I get what you mean, really, I do. But it’s a lot harder to make a difference especially when your country is actively erasing your rights and other people similar around you don’t seem to give a shit.
