The game is like 4 weeks from now, depends how things go in the mean time.

I would’ve liked McCarthy in the 2nd if the Bears send it away.
Yeah I have no idea why anyone would want to go from being 1a/1b in the big 10 every year to being like the 4th best team in the SEC, at best. Probably more like 6th at best with Oklahoma and Texas heading over there.
Yeah how he really feels about Flus is really the X factor in Poles fate to me. If he actually likes Flus, thinks Flus should stay and will only fire him if it’s the only way to save his job, then he doesn’t deserve to keep his own because if he thinks Flus is anything but awful then how can we trust him to hire any other coach?
Unless and until Eberflus is fired, I’m gonna keep saying Poles is a bum that’s in way over his head.

Obviously you’d rather have Lawrence but he was never even close to being on the table for the Bears. He was always going number 1 and they would never have been able to trade up for number 1.

Yeah, I don’t get how so many people are like “why doesn’t he get a HC job” and yet don’t bother to look up his lengthy criminal history. Assault, harassment, DUI, driving with a suspended license; several of those multiple times.
Regardless of whether you want him (and you shouldn’t) the Bears simply don’t hire guys with records like that.

I don’t think they’ll hire Rivera because the one predictable thing about the Bears HC hiring is they go for the opposite kind of guy as their last hire. Alternated offense/defense each time back to Lovie, and relatedly alternate supposedly innovative with old school guys, which generally means alternating young/old as well.
Unfortunately I can guarantee you he’ll be adding at least 1 more L to that list, probably 3 more. And some unrelated L’s too.
Really hated kicking the field goal there to get it to a 12 point lead when it was 4th and 1. Tush push again and it’s like a 90% chance of a first down, even if they went nowhere after that it’d have burned enough clock to seal the win.
The defense needs to stop playing such soft coverage so that they actually have a chance to defend quick passes. That, more than talent, is why they can’t get any sacks - Eberflus’s defense never got any pressure in Indy either. There’s always a quick outlet for the QB for even if they do get pressured, they inevitably have a place to dump it off.
Better idea, sign him this offseason, he can start the day games and Fields gets the prime time games.
