lmao they only refused the unconditional surrender, which detailed the complete occupation of the nation, removal of the emperor, and the arresting of all their politicians which the japanese told the americans it was unacceptable (however they agreed to the occupation).

Well guess what? The fucking americans didn’t even bother doing their conditions right and just accepted japans previous proposal, and this was AFTER they firebombed tokyo to dust, and nuked 100,000s of people. What a shitty decrepit nation you have there.

  • what you mention in your post resonated with a video I saw on YouTube once. The topic of how much Hong Kong contributed to china’s GDP was astronomical, I think somewhere around 20% in 1997. Nowadays I don’t even think Hong Kong even reaches the Top 10 Cities anymore. And there’s nothing it really contributes anyways, banking and services have become more developed in china thanks to its national banks, so its reliance on the city is very little. R&D and manufacturing exist very little in the city as well.

Taiwan is a different matter, Likely the status quo will prevail for the next decades, that is unless america collapses (which is still major chance of happening).

  • Still pretty bloodthirsty, but all things considered western propaganda hasn’t been as successful as other places (I live in scotland, where most people have quite alternative opinions to the mainstream). But that doesn’t stop them from trying, like my college teachers who keep bringing up scottish martial tradition and how we’re “warriors”, like some girl apparently said she would fight in ukraine and the teacher keeps bringing up how she’s so brave.

Most people are divided on this but when are we aren’t? Suffice to say the war in ukraine has just become background information for most people.

  • on the topic of queer rights Putin in an interview where he was pressed on Russia’s putatively “repressive” anti-gay laws, pointed out how the U.S. still has 4 states which have anti-sodomy laws technically making homosexuality illegal, while Russia has no such laws, which means Russia is technically more accepting of homosexuality than the U.S. Of course a supreme court decision has allegedly made those U.S. laws ‘unenforceable’ but they still remain on the books in those states.

Further, Russia has under 100 anti-gay hate crimes per year while the U.S. has something like 4000-5000, as per official statistics.

But again russia is the only homophobic country, unlike here in the west where we actively gaslight our gay communities into thinking they’re safe, or the white supremacist queers would larp up our misinfo to target those dirty ‘other’ countries.
