Not sure if this is niche at all (since video gaming essays are a dime a dozen), but ThorHighHeels does great videos on video games and gaming eras that are generally ignored by most people. Stuff like the fonts used in PS3 games, untranslated Japanese life simulators, janky handheld games, and all that. His video topics usually stray almost instantly from the title, too, so they’re always a fun surprise.
He’s a musician and self-styled artist, so all of his takes and video formats are something I don’t see anywhere else.
