Gotta love the apathy propaganda.
That’s what most of the political articles posted seem to be. It’s always one of three things:
- Biden way ahead in polls over Trump
- Trump way ahead in polls over Biden
- All president candidates suck, do t even bother voting
It feels like one big disinformation machine.
Or, read the article and see why so many don’t feel like voting for either and then push the Dems to CHANGE.
And push them to change by participating. Primaries is where change happens. Vote for the person that aligns with your values, campaign for them, run yourself, etc. Skipping the general or voting for conservatives only backslides us further.
If Democrats magically banded together and all agreed to the most progressive forward thinking agenda possible, not a single thing would happen because the GOP would block it. What happened the last time the Democrats had both chambers of Congress and the White House? They passed the largest healthcare overhaul in a generation that improved the lives of millions. We don’t just need the Democrats to change, we need to put them in a position where they can make changes as well.
. Primaries is where change happens. Vote for the person that aligns with your values, campaign for them, run yourself, etc. Skipping the general or voting for conservatives only backslides us further.
You mean like '16 primary where they were so threatened by an actual progressive that they intentionally and willfully took steps to ensure he could never compete with Hilary? That primary?
they intentionally and willfully took steps to ensure he could never compete with Hilary
I keep hearing this repeated ad nauseum yet I’ve never actually seen someone articulate what those steps were. Bernie was on every single primary ballot. The only steps that needed to be taken by voters was to vote for him rather than Hillary. I voted for Bernie in '16. No one had a single fucking excuse to vote for Hillary over him, yet they did, in droves. It was a failure of voters that she won.
How about the ‘20 primary where he started as the front runner and still lost?
Or do you just wanna relitigate 2016 forever?
Vote for the person that aligns with your values, campaign for them, run yourself, etc.
Running for president oneself is obviously off the table. As far as voting for the person that aligns with my values… None of them do. I’ll be voting for the other races on the ballot, because my vote in the primary and general elections will be worthless.
Romneycare? The largest transfer of money to the health insurance industry?
I too would prefer a public option or single payer system that a lot of democrats support, but again, conservatives obstruct at every opportunity. Just like they did with the affordable care act.
Not a single person has been able to articulate how having more Republicans in power results in the positive change they supposedly support. I know that actual argument is “they’ll destroy everything and we’ll rebuild from the ashes” but they refuse to say that because it shows what childish assholes they are.
California has a bullet proof democrat super majority and they can’t pass single payer or livable wage either. And when they all take money from the same capitalists they have no intent on representing the working class.
I did read it. It’s hot garbage meant to reduce voter turnout.
A 3rd party vote is wasted, and failure to participate means leaving the decision to others. Both are foolish choices.
It’s a primary…
The article isn’t just about the primary. It’s about an anticipated Trump v. Biden election, and idiots who think it would be a good idea not to vote.
Hear hear, and as far as that goes I’ll personally be voting for Williamson
But when it get to the general election, whoever’s the Democratic party nominee has my vote
(Also, I would vote for Biden over Phillips if those are my only choices)
I don’t want either of this redundant old farts running this country. I’m voting for Biden though because I’ll not a fucking moron.
This is my favorite way I have ever seen it said
“People can’t pay their bills, credit card balances are through the roof. Inflation is high. Democracy is in peril. Immigration is out of control. So, there’s a lot of pain going around.
Well, one of those things is not like the other. Let’s see if we can improve that quote a bit,
People can’t pay their bills, credit card balances are through the roof. Inflation is high. Democracy is in peril. Lazy morons like me who haven’t had an original thought since the Clinton administration are still getting paid way too much money to be experts. So, there’s a lot of pain going around.
Much better!
Fuck that I am voting against republican 100% for the rest of my life, also not taking polls or talking to news people about politics.
why cant we just call it what it is; fascism vs democracy. names irrelevant
Is there no alternative democrats this time around?
If you’re ok with another Trump term, sure.
I’m not a voter in this country, just trying to understand, where is the democratic primary?
There’s multiple and independents, green party
But no democratic primary?
The long track record of voting the lesser evil has gotten us to the point now. We are choosing between two genocidal old men. If there was ever a time to take a stand and change course, it would be now. Democracy will always be on the line if you’re infinitely choosing between two forms of evil.
Why don’t liberals vote for trump and push him left after the election? That approach has worked wonders on Joe.
“I’m completely disenchanted from the political process at the moment,” said Grace Freeman, 34. "Right now, there’s just no way I’m going to vote for Joe Biden again. I don’t believe in his leadership as an American, especially as a Black American.
“And I’m absolutely not voting for Trump. He’s a terrible option,” Freeman said. “I might vote for a third-party candidate or not vote at all ‒ and I’m a voting rights advocate!”
vote biden because other choice is bad and choosing an alternative is bad too and not voting biden would be fascism
confused how being forced to vote for one person and party is democracy but hey not allowed to vote would not know
confused
No you aren’t. You know what you’re doing.
3rd Party baby! LET’S GO!!!
You’ll have an easier time destroying or taking over one of the two parties and taking their place unless our first past the post system changes
These people refuse to acknowledge math. It’s not even a close call.
the closest a third party has ever gone was Ross Perot. 21% of the popular vote - 0 electoral college votes.
it is not possible until something else changes.
How about the exhausted voter as stated in the article?
That’s wishful thinking to the point of being delusional.
