There’s no way the House Minority Leader isn’t going to get questions on this. Seems pretty reasonable to get a public statement out.

If it was turned on, they’ve likely already gotten it unlocked. If he had time to turn it off he might buy himself some time but I seriously doubt they would even charge him without having all the receipts already anyways.

No, sitting out is the same as voting 3rd party. You are having the exact same statistical effect.

There is no “default”. There is no “sitting out”. It’s just how math works in a FPTP system. You are actively choosing which of the 2 parties’ candidate to support, regardless of what you choose to do. Voting 3rd party and choosing not to vote both support the smaller party. That party is the GOP in this case.

I am well aware they don’t like hearing that voting 3rd party/not voting is supporting Trump, but it’s absolutely true. They just don’t want to vote strategically, they want to feel good about their vote. That’s much less likely to bring about positive change in my opinion.

I don’t think it’s fair or accurate to say that Biden is incapable of serving as president if he’s unable to campaign for reelection.

Im not going to get into defending Biden’s record, but being president and campaigning for president are two totally separate skills. I have no problem recognizing that he’s simply unable to do both simultaneously now. I don’t think POTUS needs to be able to both, they do need to handle the duties of the presidency though.

I don’t think everyone working there expected to be shot at. I don’t think it would deter me, being so awesome and whatnot, but I wouldn’t expect everyone to react that way.
