LCS is so good and I wish another game, outside of maybe Freedom Fighters, made even a half-assed attempt at what it did. It was never polished and the ideology was kind of wonky early 2000s edgelord liberalism, but building an insurgency out of the lumpenproletariat to take on reactionaries was such a great gameplay loop. If it received ongoing development it’d be to tycoon games what Dwarf Fortress is to colony games.
It’s basically the plot of Red Dawn but in New York City. To fight the Soviets you recruit insurgents, raid different buildings, create infrastructure, and eventually do large-scale attacks. It was like real-time XCOM. Granted I played it as a child and have no idea how it aged, but at the time it was a great shooter with an interesting metagame.

The game has been picked up by some volunteers and still is being actively developed. It’s still a lot of fun to play.

It’s arcade-y, but I remember it being closer to a tactical shooter like Brothers in Arms than a set piece rail shooter like COD.
