I think they should during the bye week to help see what they could possibly do to improve the offense and maybe give JF some real coaching from someone who has more experience than Getsy.

He was allegedly approached recently by the front office about incorporating more RPO into the offense to better suit Young’s play style and refused as it wasn’t his style. I kinda take this with a grain of salt because he hasn’t shied away from RPO’s before, particularly with the Wentz-Foles Eagles SB team, but assuming it was true, he wouldn’t be a good fit for Fields here as Fields obviously needs a coach that can adapt to his unique skillset. Conversely, he wasn’t a terrible quarterbacks/receivers coach and was an alright OC. In a diminished role, would he be worse as a qb coach than Getsy as an OC?
No, I kind of get the feeling he’s done working the lifestyle of a head coach or offensive coordinator. He seems like a nice, smart guy, but he doesn’t seem adaptable. He’s most likely set in his ways, and that’s not something we need right now. We already have two guys set in their ways
So… Are we, as a Reddit sub, suggesting that the Bears always hire the coach that gets fired in the process of giving the Bears a #1 pick overall in the draft (e.g. Lovie, Frank Reich, etc.) a job in Chicago to incentivize them to win a meaningless game (in Lovie’s case) or tank the season (in Reich’s case)? I heard a lot of “Let’s hire Lovie” posts when the Bears’ DC quit(?) earlier in the season.
