Fans crossing a line is unacceptable but you just call security and get them permanently banned from the stadium or something. That will hurt them more than a shove ever could.

A lot of extremely clear bias in your comment which im sure you probably didn’t mean to show. Firstly, he explicitly states he did call security and they didn’t do anything. Secondly, it stops being a professional setting when you or your family get threatened. Just because they get paid millions of dollars does not mean they should shoulder threats, or even if it wasn’t, harassment. I know in Philly sports it’s a part of the culture but like you and I, no one wants to have to deal with this type of stuff. Hopefully he isn’t making an excuse but Philly isn’t exactly known for having the nicest fans towards opposing or even home teams.
